Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Mann Center for the Performing Arts is seeking an outgoing, motivated and detail-oriented person for a Videography & Content Creation internship opportunity within the Mann's Marketing Department. This position requires an understanding of visual arts concepts as well as hands-on videography and photography skills, including post-production. This role will assist in the development of the Mann's digital presence across multiple channels and requires a strong understanding of marketing concepts and excellent communication and organizational skills. This internship will report to the Marketing Department and provide additional administrative support as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Shoot high-quality photos and videos of events, promotions, and concerts
• Edit and produce video content and imagery for use on the Mann's website, social media, and marketing collateral
• Graphic design and creation for social media and web purposes
• Set-up and breakdown of equipment such as lights, tripods, etc.
• Import footage and correctly update databases and shared asset drives for the Marketing Department
• Estimate project timelines and produce content in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Assist with public relations and marketing responsibilities at concerts and events at the Mann and other locations within the Greater Philadelphia area that often occur during nights and weekends
• Provide administrative support and carry out other marketing projects as needed
Requirements:
• Able to provide your own professional video camera and equipment
• Must be able to provide any additional equipment needed to produce high-quality content such as mics, tripods, lighting, etc.
• Video editing experience a must
• Proven understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop or Illustrator
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Word; familiarity with Outlook, PowerPoint, or SharePoint a plus
• Ability to take direction well and adapt content according to desired branding and messaging
• Ability to work professionally with highly confidential information
• Must have a reliable form of transportation
• Willingness to travel on occasion to off-site locations within the Greater Philadelphia area
• Comfortable interacting with patrons and willing to provide customer service as needed
• Communicative and highly organized
This internship includes a $1,000 stipend, half of which is paid at the halfway point (on or around July 18th) and the other half upon completion of the internship (on or around September 5th). In order to trigger the stipend payment, successful candidates must meet the time commitment criteria:
• Time commitment for the internship is 32 to 35 hours per week
• May 31st through August 31st (though availability earlier in May and during September is preferred)
Interns will work primarily at the Mann's offices located in Center City Philadelphia, with event support on nights and weekends at the venue in West Philadelphia. The Mann is happy to provide documentation for college or university credit, though current enrollment is not required.
