The Development Operations Intern provides critical support for the Development team, including but not limited to administrative department support, donor services, and assistance with volunteer management.
This position is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, outgoing individual who is highly detail oriented, self-motivated, and organized with excellent communication and time management skills. This entry-level position is a fantastic way for a self-starting individual with some Development experience to be immersed in the performing arts.
This person should be comfortable meeting and interacting with a variety of patrons, donors, and staff and be passionate about the Mann's mission to serve our community. The environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to handle multiple projects at once under tight deadlines.
The Development Operations Intern reports directly to the Manager of Development Operations. Evening and weekend availability required. Please note there is a 30-hr/week minimum commitment for Development Internships.
Responsibilities:
• Interact with members in the Donor Terrace & Garden at summer concerts and ensure donors have a positive experience
• Assist with Development department scheduling
• Assist with ticket mailings throughout the Mann's season
• Coordinate ticket donations for Philadelphia nonprofit events
• Assist with pulling and formatting reports using Archtics, the Mann's fundraising database
• Coordinate volunteer schedules for summer concerts
• Maintain regular communication with volunteers throughout the summer to ensure a positive experience for volunteers and patrons/donors
• Assist the Vice President of Business Development with corporate requests
• Assist with member requests via phone and email when needed
• Assist with the planning and execution of special events when needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or currently enrolled college student
• 1-2 years of Development experience, preferably at a nonprofit or cultural arts organization
• Must be extremely detail-oriented, organized, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Must demonstrate excellent telephone, writing, verbal and personal communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with Archtics, Raiser's Edge, or other fundraising software preferred
• Must have a reliable form of transportation
