This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Founded in 2002 by Andrew Herwitz, former Head of Acquisitions at Miramax, The Film Sales Company is a New York based international sales company which secures financing and distribution for narrative feature films and documentaries. We have successfully sold over 150 films to a variety of domestic and foreign distributors, including ADAM, BODY OF WAR, Academy Award Winner BORN INTO BROTHELS, CRAZY LOVE, FAHRENHEIT 9/11, WAITRESS, and Academy Award Nominee WAR/DANCE. FSC specializes in both highly commercial movies and critically acclaimed, award-winning films. We develop unique strategies for our clients which draws upon our considerable expertise in sales, financing and distribution, our extensive relationships with all of the major and specialized distributors, and our experiences participating in countless domestic and international film festivals and markets.
Job Description: Interns are closely involved in all aspects of the company including covering films, reading scripts, attending screenings, doing research, updating logs and going on errands. This is a great opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of independent film distribution and to network in the fields of film, television, and multimedia.
A minimum time commitment of 2 days per week is required. An internship term is generally 3 months. Upon their three month review, interns may choose to continue at The Film Sales Company for the following term.
Job Requirements: Attention to detail, ability to think analytically and to multi-task, strong work ethic, and passion for independent film. Administrative experience and knowledge of independent film is preferred.
