Position: Legal Assistant
Job Classification: Full-time
Salary Grade/Level: Entry level
Exciting opportunity to work for one of the top music entertainment law firms in the U.S. The Davis Firm Pllc is looking for a legal administrative assistant to join our team in New York.
This is an entry-level position which is designed to provide assistance to three (3) attorneys and one (1) executive assistant and other administrative staff on a task-by-task basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate directly with attorneys, clients, and other firm staff members.
• Draft letters, memos, and other communications.
• Create, revise, and edit legal documents and agreements under the direction of responsible attorneys.
• Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, and content; make appropriate changes.
• Organize and priority large volumes of information.
• Create, manage, and maintain electronic and hardcopy files in the firm's filing system.
• Open and close new client matters including gathering and retrieving information from files when needed.
• Process invoices, receipts, and manage collection efforts from clients.
• Internet research, as directed.
• Process expenses and schedule and coordinate events, meetings, conference rooms, and travel schedules for several attorneys.
• Provide administrative support (copy, scanning, mailing, etc.).
• Recruit, interview, and supervise legal and college interns.
• Answer telephones, maintain call logs, greet clients, respond to and assist clients, providing information and assuring appropriate follow-through and/or resolution.
• Initiate and supervise office organizational projects.
• Other general office responsibilities and projects as needed and/or assigned.
Skills and Competencies:
• Must exhibit a high degree of initiative in managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment utilizing excellent judgment and decision-making skills
• Must have have exceptional organizational skills, possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and have good communication skills.
• Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
• This position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
• Ability to find solutions to various administrative problems, and technology problems.
• Ability to use standard office equipment, filing cabinets, including personal computer, copier, scanner, facsimile, telephone, etc.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, service focused environment and to handle stressful situations in a calm, composed manner.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to complete projects with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, the ability to work with others and possesses a desire to learn and grow professionally.
Qualifications and Prior Experience:
At least one year experience in a professional office preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, technology advanced phone systems and time entry systems. Proficiency working on Mac computers.
