BEN is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive sales in the Germany, Austria and Switzerland (GAS) territory and working from the company’s London, UK office. This role is ideal for a strategic sales leader and experience with high volume sales and the ability to attain and exceed revenue goals in this very competitive space.
This is an external, client-facing sales role with a deep focus on increasing revenue in the GAS region and other ad-hoc markets as directed. Regular travel throughout the GAS region and other European territories will be required. By developing relationships with decision-makers (business affairs and production teams), the BDM grows business throughout a variety of media-based accounts.
BDM will focus on key customer segment including targeted corporations, broadcast departments at Creative Ad Agencies, and other targeted customers as deemed appropriate by Greenlight Management with a specialization in selling Rights (talent clearance, music/movie licensing), entertainment partnerships and talent casting. BDM will prospect, sell, and close designated accounts/targets to maximize revenues and increase commercial business opportunities. Using advanced consultative selling skills, the BDM measurably increases revenue year-over-year. This role hinges on the accurate evaluation of clients’ needs to identify opportunities, close collaboration with teammates and managers to designate solutions and advanced presentation skills to effectively demonstrate Greenlight’s value to the customer.

Responsibilities:
Sales Execution
• Responsible for:
• meeting or exceeding assigned revenue targets in designated territory.
• prospecting, targeting, acquiring potential new clients/ targets via cold calling/emailing
• growing and retaining assigned accounts in partnership with the Greenlight team
• working with business affairs and production teams, content buyers, procurement teams and executives as well as creative teams and brands itself.
• Work with the team to build a strategic plan to drive long-term goals while also employing a tactical approach to short term priorities.
• Leverage a proactive, hands-on and consultative selling approach to develop relationships with a variety of clients through in-person meetings and calls/video calls (3 effective meetings or intro calls per week).
• Independently identifies, pursues and closes volume sales opportunities.
• Identify business opportunities for rights clearances (talent clearance, music/movie licensing), entertainment partnerships and talent casting with key customer targets for advertising campaigns.
• Work closely with Client Management team to respond to clients’ briefs and to close the sale.
• Establish multiple level contacts within accounts. Present to, consult with and cultivate relationships.
Teamwork
• Collaborates with the client management team and the other BDM to create compelling presentations and other sales materials.
• Always maintains the highest standards of interpersonal communication internally and externally in developing business.
• Works closely with Sales Management on reporting all stages of business development from initial opportunity to closed deals and future growth.
• Partners with marketing to provide feedback on, and aid in the development of, compelling collateral and to report on market and creative trends.
Activity Reporting
• Maintains and delivers weekly status reports summarizing all sales developments.
• Records accurate, thorough and timely notes in client database (CRM).
• Track and maintain target sales forecast and pipeline activity reports.
• Assures sales partners are aware of all relevant account activity and planning.
Requirements:
• 3-5 years’ experience in sales (preferable in the Advertising/Media industry) including all phases of sales development (prospecting, proposal development, negotiation, closing and relationship/account management).
• Ideally, knowledge and understanding of content rights and intellectual property licensing.
• Excellent presentation, collaboration and consultative selling skills.
• Experience tailoring sales presentations to address verticals and specific accounts’ needs.
• Prior success in a results-driven sales environment, with demonstrated achievement of sales targets.
• Ability to develop strong internal relationships with colleagues globally.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Self-motivated, goal-oriented with strong time management skills required.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a small and diverse team of people.
• Calmness and professionalism under pressure in a busy event and client environment
• Attend networking industry events and conferences as required.
• Prepared to travel as needed throughout the GAS region (1 week per month) and throughout other territories on ad-hoc basis.
• Fluent German language required.
• Computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows applications, Internet savvy a must.
