Job Title: Director, Information Technology

Reports To: VP, Ballpark Experience and Operations
Summary
This position is responsible for the strategic planning and direction, as well as the day-to-day operations of IT functions for the Orioles. The department has responsibility for ensuring that data and information flows securely, effectively, and efficiently throughout the organization. The IT team has full responsibility for developing and managing a comprehensive support system for the information infrastructure and telecommunications systems of the Orioles at Oriole Park, Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, the Buck O'Neil Baseball Complex in Sarasota, as well as in the Dominican Republic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Overall management of the Orioles IT Department to include hiring, performance reviews, job evaluation and employee training recommendations.
• Responsibility for securing all aspects of Information Technology including user accounts, endpoint devices, servers, network devices, and data repositories.
• PCI/MA PII compliance and evaluation of meeting club standards for data governance.
• Development of a long-term vision for the Orioles IT Department.
• Formulate and manage the annual operating and capital budgets.
• Manage and direct IT staff assignments.
• Documentation of network systems, designs, and all department procedures.
• Publication of IT Systems service catalog.
• Maintain and develop existing programs/solutions, evaluate, and recommend necessary equipment and upgrades, identify outsourcing requirements, and provide expertise for new and improved systems for expansion.
• Maintain knowledge of current technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and infrastructure best practices.
• Responsible for MLB systems support, initiatives, IT security initiatives, infrastructure projects and compliance.
• Orioles IT also supports the corporate offices and employees of Orioles Regional Broadcast partner MASN, the ticketing department, business analytics department, baseball operations, as well as the baseball analytics department.

• Ability to translate technical issues into language that can be easily understood by non-technical managers and staff.
• Proactive communication across the organization to maximize service support and the ability to work effectively in all levels of the organization in a team environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Professional image and positive demeanor as well as flexible work schedule to include event nights, weekends, holidays, and other off hours for necessary systems maintenance as needed.
• Periodic travel, to domestic and international locations, is expected.
• Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 pounds.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related discipline from an accredited 4-year college or university.
Five to ten years professional experience including:
• Similar size sports and entertainment facility; previous MLB experience is a plus.
• Systems management / application server management / information security management.
• Network architecture / design / implementation.
• Network tuning and troubleshooting.
• Network hardening, intrusion detection/prevention and work with a 3rd party SOC preferred.
• Strong understanding of Wi-Fi systems, coverage, and troubleshooting.
• Storage management and cloud systems management a plus.
• Familiarity with ITIL standards/practices and SDLC preferred.
• Personnel management and staff development.
• Systems and Network certifications will be strongly considered but are not necessary with considerable experience.
