The Africa Channel currently has an opening for a Digital Asset Manager. This position is located in North Hollywood, California. We are a digital media company looking to add a member to our operations team, whose primary responsibilities would include:
Monitor, supervise, implement, and maintain the operation of software and hardware servers and systems that make up the content supply chain including but not limited to Storage servers, transcoding servers, encoding servers, transfer servers/systems, content verification systems, databases, business process management tools, scripts, dashboards, publishing/cms tools, etc.
Responsible for ingesting, tracking, archival, and packaging for distribution of media assets from end-to-end through our global supply chain.
Responsible for assisting in the development of the overall strategy, best practices, implementation, and workflow of the Digital Asset Management system.
Trains and assists internal users and asset management processes and procedures.
Assisting with organizational and project-related tasks, as needed.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Education and Experience:
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Broadcast technology, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in content and data management.

Other Skills / Requirements:
Experienced in the ingest, delivery, and packaging of digital assets.
Experience managing projects and implementing quality controls.
Experience implementing and managing a DAM system.
Experience with database management, managing large datasets, including professional experience with SQL and advanced usage of spreadsheets.
Experience working with digital media, including transcoding video, codecs, aspect ratios, audio formats, compression technologies.
Script development experience (i.e. UNIX Shell, Node.js, PERL, python, etc.).
Strong verbal and written technical and non-technical communications skills.
Knowledge of Linux, Mac OSX, and Windows-based systems.
Entertainment industry experience is desirable.

Physical Demands:
The job involves sitting; walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc. Frequent use of hands and fingers to write and to manipulate telephone and computer keyboard. Occasionally required to bend and lift items up to 50 pounds.
Travel:
Occasionally - up to 15% of the time.

Typical tools, equipment, and materials utilized:
Computer, telephone, printer, calculator, copier, fax machine use is required. Must have excellent knowledge of SQL, Python, Excel, Linux. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is beneficial.
