THE MRKT is the multicultural marketing and communications division of Terry Hines & Associates (THA), a leading entertainment-marketing firm for over 40 years. Founded in 2003, our specialized one-stop shop offers a comprehensive approach to connecting with diverse multicultural demographics via culture and lifestyle, over stereotypes and assumptions.
As a multicultural marketing partner for several major motion picture studios, television networks, streaming services, and consumer brands the division primarily specializes in marketing entertainment properties to Hispanic and African-American consumers across the country via a wide range of services, including targeted publicity, promotions, grassroots, creative content and advertising, digital/social media, and paid media consultation.
The Publicity Coordinator for The MRKT will provide support to the executive and account teams in administrative tasks and executing campaigns that resonate within multicultural communities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Handling administrative duties for the department, including research, answering executive phones, organizing brainstorms and other meetings, compiling expense reports, processing purchase orders and invoices, planning/buying/sending client gifts, etc.
• Maintaining clean and up-to-date publicity and promotions databases and helping research and expand partnerships with new media outlets, promotional partners, word-of-mouth groups and event organizers
• Compiling information and updates from team, reviewing for consistency and accuracy, and submitting to clients in a timely manner
• Tracking publicity & promotions coverage across all platforms in national and regional outlets and collecting tear sheets, clips, links, air checks, media values and impressions for inclusion in daily breaks, as well as in weekly and final reports
• Developing and/or compiling publicity and promotions reports/updates/recaps and ensuring they are submitted in an accurate and timely manner
• Assisting and providing staffing support for interviews, junkets, press days, PA tours, stunts, screenings, special events, and promotional grassroots events as needed
• Scheduling/coordinating brainstorm sessions and contributing fresh, creative, and executable ideas
• Pitching and procuring publicity coverage across select television, radio, print, and online outlets and blogs
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 1-2 years related experience
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills?; Spanish fluency a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Outstanding organizational skills and impeccable time management and prioritization abilities when performing a variety of projects simultaneously
• Punctuality and reliability with ability to commit to non-traditional work hours, as some projects will require evenings/weekends activities both in the office & off-site
