THE MRKT is the multicultural marketing and communications division of Terry Hines & Associates (THA), a leading entertainment-marketing firm for over 40 years. Founded in 2003, our specialized one-stop shop offers a comprehensive approach to connecting with diverse multicultural demographics via culture and lifestyle, over stereotypes and assumptions.
As a multicultural marketing partner for several major motion picture studios, television networks, streaming services, and consumer brands the division primarily specializes in marketing entertainment properties to Hispanic and African-American consumers across the country via a wide range of services, including targeted publicity, promotions, grassroots, creative content and advertising, digital/social media, and paid media consultation.
The Jr. Promotions Manager for The MRKT will devise and execute promotion, word-of-mouth, and grassroots strategies that will resonate within multicultural communities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Developing national and regional multicultural promotional strategies, inclusive of creative event activations, grassroots outreach, partnerships, and word-of-mouth programs, and (upon executive team approval) coordinating/producing all pertinent logistics and administrative tasks as needed to execute projects effectively and successfully
• Coordinating and providing staff support at promotional screenings, stunts, and events as needed
• Developing client related communications and materials, including but not limited to recap reports, status reports, final reports and presentations
• Entering promotions and grassroots status updates into client designated reporting applications and formats in an accurate and timely manner
• Maintaining a clean and up-to-date word-of-mouth and grassroots database, while establishing, maintaining and expanding partnerships with event organizers, community organizations, tastemakers, and word-of-mouth groups
• Supervising external reps and vendors needed for client service and ensuring quality, cost-effective service, within established budget and timeframe
• Participating in brainstorm sessions while contributing fresh, creative, and executable ideas
• Representing The MRKT and clients in a positive and highly energetic way, while displaying the best tact and consideration
• Effectively managing workload to ensure client expectations, directives and deadlines are met
• Remaining attuned to the multicultural marketing landscape and proactively identifying, researching and bringing new promotional opportunities, events and initiatives that align with client projects
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 2-3 years related experience in multicultural, promotions and/or grassroots marketing; movie/entertainment experience a plus
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills?; Spanish fluency a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Outstanding organizational skills and impeccable time management and prioritization abilities when performing a variety of projects simultaneously
• Creative and strategic thinking with a solution-oriented mindset and the ability to independently lead projects
• Punctuality and reliability with ability to commit to non-traditional work hours, as some projects will require evenings/weekends activities both in the office & off-site
