Full Time Paid Internship
Responsibilities
Telemundo 40 McAllen is offering a Spring/Summer 2018 Internship to a qualified undergraduate and/or graduate student interested in the TV broadcasting industry. Students gain hands-on experience while working on challenging projects, networking with professionals and learning from some of the brightest minds in the business. The duties and responsibilities of an intern vary by department.
The student may apply during the summer, fall or spring college semester, full-time or part-time, based on availability and business needs.
This internship is offered by Telemundo 40 located in McAllen, Texas and student will be located in same work area during the internship.
The duties and responsibilities of a News intern may vary within the scope of the News Department:
• Assignment Desk
• Digital Media
• Web Editor
• News Photojournalist
• Producing
• Production/editing/shooting
Successful interns will demonstrate a passion for learning and the ability to step out of their comfort zone. We are looking for students who are highly motivated and who can function as a team member or independently in a news environment.
Internships at NBCUniversal are paid and do not require course credit.
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications/Requirements
o In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm degree progress.
o Currently enrolled and classified as a Junior, Senior or above
o Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
o Must be at least 18 years of age
o Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without a visa or sponsorship
o Must be able to work the Internship in McAllen, Texas
• Submit the following requirements upon request:
• At least (1 or 2) letters of recommendation from a teacher and/or advisor
• Letter of Intent (500-1000 words max)
• Official school transcript
• Bilingual - English/Spanish required
