Tastemade is seeking an Accounting Manager who will be an exceptional addition to our Finance and Accounting team. As Accounting Manager, you will manage the day-to-day international accounting operations, overseeing a combination of internal and external accounting teams for subsidiaries located in Japan, Brazil, Argentina and UK as well as being involved with several key processes as part of US operations.
By working closely with our local U.S. accounting team, you will be responsible for the overall monthly consolidated financial reporting requirements of the company. Working closely with our FP&A team, you will review and ensure the accuracy of coding and contents of key accounts and processes to facilitate accuracy of budget of forecast.
What you'll do:
International accounting
• Oversee 2 international staff accountants providing hands on training, support and guidance
• Manage relationships with third party accounting firms and banking institutions in 4 countries
• Develop an understanding of international laws/ taxes appropriate to each region
• Review month end accounting packages for accuracy for all regions
• Work with regions to create/ improve processes and controls
• Prepare consolidated financial reporting and completion of consolidated balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Review and approve international payroll and payments
• Manage cash needs and funding requirements.
• Understand systematic FX revaluations and consolidated exchange rates, transfer pricing calculations and other advanced accounting areas.
General
• Ensures accurate & timely month-end General Ledger close in compliance with U.S. GAAP standards with adherence to tight closing calendar. Identifies any areas of concern in accounts for investigation & resolves. Key contributor to the month-end close.
• Play a pivotal role in the external audit process and international consolidated tax provision process
• Preparation of black scholes stock compensation calculation
• Preparation of consolidation and elimination entries
• Reconciliation of intercompany accounts
• Preparation of consolidated financial report including notes and supporting workpapers using strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Assist in the development and documentation of processes and procedures, monitoring of internal controls and identification of opportunities for efficiencies
• Perform special projects and/or other job related responsibilities as assigned
• Supports compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes and regulations.
• Support the Controller with a strong knowledge of GAAP, creating workpapers for key accounting treatments and being a resource for the team to consult with for revenue recognition, expense recognition and other adhoc acquisition accounting requirements
• Interact effectively with FP&A and other Company departments to support the timely and efficient record keeping while supporting the finance needs of the organization.
What you'll bring:
• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
• 6-8 years related experience - Big 4 experience preferred
• Public accounting experience preferred; strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general financial concepts.
• Possesses experience in engaging, growing, and developing teams and a passion for being a role model.
• Proven expertise in applying technical accounting to actual results and a proven track record of managing teams handling large volumes of transactional data and being able to step back and look at the big picture.
• Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills, excellent problem solving skills, attention to detail and follow through
• Advanced knowledge of Excel required, proficiency in Netsuite preferred
• Must show accountability, be proactive, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive matters
