Job Description
The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking a Manager, Corporate Partnerships that will be responsible for generating new business opportunities for the Tampa Bay Rays. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Corporate Partnerships department, as well as other departments including but not limited to: marketing, broadcasting, ticketing, operations, facilities, finance, community engagement and human resources. This role will require a dynamic individual who can interface with senior executives, be detailed oriented and be able to think critically and creatively in applying marketing assets to close deals with area businesses.
Responsibilities
Employee's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Understand the nuances and complexity of sponsorship sales
• Primary responsibility is generating new partnerships
• Secondary responsibility is maintaining renewal partnerships as assigned
• Meet sales goals assigned
• Set appointments with prospective partners
• Create, manage and pursue personal sales funnel
• Master sales presentations
• Maintain and contribute to CRM database regularly
• Negotiate partnership deliverables and contract terms
• Networking and relationship building
• Have a clear understanding of prospective partners needs and how to apply partnership deliverables to achieve those goals
• Team player with excellent listening skills
• Solution based approach to prospective clients
• Assist in executing partnership agreements in conjunction with services team
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Must have two (2) years of experience in sports, media or corp sales with proven track record
• Strong communication skills; both oral and written
• Detailed oriented and solid time management skills
• Exceptional customer service skills required
• Proven track record of closing business and building relationships
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and long hours
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals
