Part Time Unpaid Internship
The sustained success of the Tampa Bay Rays is impossible without a steady flow of championship caliber major league players. Our mission is to acquire premium talent and to give every player in the Rays organization the best possible chance to reach the major leagues. This internship focuses primarily on key aspects of our player development and international scouting processes including: video, player education and acculturation, minor league logistics and administration. It also includes exposure to player evaluation at extended spring training, Gulf Coast League games and workouts.
Responsibilities
– The primary duties of the internship position include:
• Support International and Minor League Operations administrative processes as needed from spring training through the championship season.
• Assist with the coordination of English classes, tutoring sessions and cultural outings for Latin American players.
• Ensure all international scouting video is uploaded to the Rays platform in a timely manner.
• Assist international scouts with troubleshooting video issues.
• Assist with data collection for performance science initiatives to support player development and international scouting programs.
• Operate Trackman for Extended Spring Training and Gulf Coast League games at Charlotte Sports Park as needed.
• Assist with video needs at Charlotte Sports Park as needed, including bullpen sessions, workouts and game footage.
• Assist with player housing and transportation logistics, including airport transfers throughout the season.
• Various projects related to Baseball Operations including but not limited to international scouting, player development and performance science.
Qualifications

• Passion for baseball with a strong interest in baseball operations.

• Desire to learn and improve knowledge of technology and baseball systems.
