Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Tampa Bay Rays' 2022 Fan Experience Intern will assist in providing an outstanding experience for all guests attending events at Tropicana Field. Primary responsibilities will include developing and operating unique fan interactive activities and ensuring all guests receive outstanding customer service from event day staff.
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Recruitment of Fan Host (ticket takers, ushers, guest services, etc.)
• Communicate with vendors, agencies, and other departments to successfully implement event-day promotions and operations
• Aid with training all event staff (Fan Hosts, Concessions, Security, Parking, etc.)
• Coordination of secret shopper program to evaluate all event day staff
• Assist with scheduling of Fan Host and Role Players
• Oversee the Tropicana Field tour program and Tour Guides
• Support Non-Baseball Events (Home Show, Graduations, etc.)
• Develop organizational systems to ensure proper inventory levels for event days
• Other creative ideas to improve fan experience
Qualifications:
• 1-3 semesters in sport management, business, entertainment, or marketing
• Some customer service experience and staff management preferred
• Ability to work professionally in an office setting with other departments
• Confidence to speak in front of large groups
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Computer skills (Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs)
• Excellent communication skills (via phone, e-mail, letters, etc.)
The following are brief internship guidelines:
• Candidates must be available for the entire duration of the internship (February – October).
• Must be available for normal office hours (8:30 am – 5:30 pm), and game days and events as assigned
