Title: Assistant, Minor League Operations
Department: Minor League Operations
Location: Player Development Complex (location TBD)
Reports to: Assistant Director, Minor League Operations
Description: The Rays are adding to our Player Development roster, looking for an individual who is detail-oriented, proactive, creative, and growth-minded. This role is both office-based (at our Player Development complex) and player-facing, allowing for a lot of variety in your day-to-day schedule. We will rely on this individual to keep us in tip-top shape from an administrative and logistics standpoint, contribute to our player education initiatives, and help bring our Player Development social media channels to life. This position has the ability to affect our players' experience on a daily basis, as well as evolve our Player Development programs.
Responsibilities:
Player Development Administration & Logistics
• Support the administrative process throughout the baseball calendar, including minor league spring training, championship season, instructional league, and pre and off-season programs
• Update rosters, assist with credentialing, and manage various player-related platforms as needed
• Assist in onboarding players entering the Rays organization
• Support Minor League Travel Manger as needed
• Contribute to the growth of the player development space with other projects as assigned
Player Development Social Media
• Create compelling and educational content to engage with players and staff
• Collaborate with the Rays Creative Services team to bring PD Social to life, both internally and externally
• Serve as the intermediary between Rays PR, external media members, and Rays minor league athletes to ensure content quality and consistency
Player Education
• Contribute actively to our larger player education team, specifically within Life Skills and Professional Development opportunities for our athletes and staff members
• Collaborate with members of our greater staff on various educational projects
• Program player outings to Tropicana Field
• Help facilitate player-focused MLB Programming
• Assist with First Year Player Program following the collegiate draft
Qualifications:
• Plus communication skills in all formats, with the ability to tailor to individual audiences
• Social media management, content creation, video editing, and graphic design experience
• Command of Microsoft Office suite programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams
• Bonus skills that you may find tremendously helpful: SQL, Spanish fluency, Adobe Creative Suite, various social media management platforms
