Job Title: Shop Technician I
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Supervisor: Warehouse/Operations Manager & LED Shop Supervisor
Dept: Shop Business Unit: Live Events
Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to compile equipment load lists for Display/Projection division, perform inventory on all equipment and gear and to participate in and support all shop activities as needed.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Facilitate the departure and return of products and gear.
• Load and unload trucks as directed.
• Compile and scan complete load list for events by picking, packing and shipping all necessary equipment.
• Properly store and move equipment as needed.
• Maintain a high level of teamwork within the Field Shop in order to provide the highest level of customer service.
• Work with supervisor and other shop technicians to carry out proper shop maintenance.
• Check in packages and move equipment to appropriate locations within the shop.
• Repair basic power and data cables
• Learn more complex functions of gear, applications and procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized shop environment and assist in other shop activities as needed.
• Represent the company to clients in a courteous and professional manner.
• Assist in other Field Shop activities as needed.
• Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
• High School Diploma, Technical Degree preferred; however, a combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Some experience in a warehouse or shop environment desirable.
• Must be willing and able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs., and be willing to seek assistance for anything over 50 lbs. (should not seek to do over 50 lbs. without assistance).
• California Driver License and clean driving record.
• Ability to drive a 17ft-24ft box truck preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
Physical Demands/Work Environment Considerations:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions. While performing the duties of this position, the team member will continuously (100-75%) be required to balance, stoop, reach, stand, walk, push/pull, lift, grasp, communicate and exchange information with others, be subject to environmental conditions that occur both inside and outside, and be subject to hazards such as moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, and exposure to high heat and chemicals. The team member will frequently (74-50%) be required to crouch, feel, conduct repetitive motions, be subject to extreme heat (temperature above 100 degrees), noise, and be required to function in narrow aisles or passageways. Occasionally (49-25%), the team member will be required to climb, kneel, exhibit fine motor skills with fingers rather than the whole hand, and be subject to vibration. The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform; machine operation, lathes, drill presses, power saws, seeing at arm's reach. Additionally, the team member will be required to lift less than or equal to at least 100 lbs. of force occasionally (49-25%), less than or equal to 50 lbs. of force frequently (74-50%), and less than or equal to at least 20 lbs. of force constantly (100-75%) to move objects.
