POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Festival Environmental Graphic Designer who will be responsible for the design and production of large-scale environmental graphics for our Sundance Film Festival. The ideal candidate will have design experience with a background in graphics, brand strategy, designing spatial environments, print design, and production.
This position will work remotely out of our Park City, Utah office from October 28, 2020, to February 3, 2021. May be required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines. Must be willing and available to respond to on-call needs as assigned.
Top priorities for this position include, but aren't limited to:
• Creates media rich and appealing graphic visuals using photo, video content that are used across various medias in order to promote aspects of the Sundance Film Festival.
• Creates arresting graphics for motion and static executions.
• Executes strategies to increase select channels, maintain content themes, daily posts, etc. to drive increased engagement.
• Assists team with maintaining quality control over content submitted by staff, artists, third party providers, and sponsors.
• Monitors user responses, traffic, and visitor engagement for appropriateness and adherence to the terms of use.
• Actively maintains a consistent voice and style guide when writing on behalf of the organization.
• Monitors news and current events to propose social media coverage related to Institute artists, projects, etc.
• Monitors content sourcing in real-time.
• Assists with maintaining social media calendars with accurate information.
• Ensures adherence to all legal requirements for publication with regard to copyrights, trademarks, photo credits, clearances, staff and guest privacy policies, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
You have the following direct or transferable skill-sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 1-2 years of design experience with a background in graphics, brand strategy, designing spatial environments, print design and production.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and CAD Tools.
• Design experience with signage and wayfinding, and specifying materials.
• Experience with print and production process.
• Photo manipulation on digital images (resize, crop, add/remove objects, and color correct).
• Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal and professional skills required to work effectively with a variety of people.
• Excellent organizational skills including self-management of work schedule.
• Excellent Typography skills.
• Ability to work nights and weekends around events and key deadlines.
