Full Time Job
Employment dates: Wednesday, December 18, 2019 thru Tuesday, February 4, 2020
Pay rate: $17.00
Considerations: This position works in our Los Angeles, CA office. Will be required to travel and be lodged in Park City to work onsite during the Film Festival. Required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines. Must be willing and available to respond to on-call needs as assigned.
Position Summary: Executes the Sundance Institute's social media strategy to increase engagement, visibility, participation, traffic and program awareness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Creates media rich and appealing visual photo, video, and GIF content to post on social media to increase traffic and engagement, as directed.
• Executes strategies to increase select channels, maintain content themes, daily posts, etc. to drive increased engagement.
• Writes social media content and edits copy requests from staff as directed.
• Assists team with maintaining quality control over content submitted by staff, artists, third party providers, and sponsors.
• Monitors user responses, traffic, and visitor engagement for appropriateness and adherence to the terms of use.
• Actively maintains a consistent voice and style guide when writing on behalf of the organization.
• Monitors news and current events to propose social media coverage related to Institute artists, projects, etc.
• Monitors content sourcing in real-time.
• Assists with maintaining social media calendars with accurate information.
• Attends events to capture photo, video and live tweet as assigned.
• Ensures adherence to all legal requirements for publication with regard to copyrights, trademarks, photo credits, clearances, staff and guest privacy policies, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 1-2 years experience creating and executing social media strategies across a variety of platforms and tools.
• Experience with online publishing software, Google analytics, and traffic-monitoring tools, RSS readers, and basic HTML.
• Demonstrated ability to post clever sayings, captivating images and inspirational content.
• Strong interpersonal and professional skills required to work effectively with a variety of people.
• Excellent organizational skills including self management of work schedule.
• Must be able to maintain confidential information.
• Command of the English language with excellent copywriting skills.
• Mobile phone photography and video skills.
• Ability to post and use ftp, Cloud, and Dropbox.
• Ability to work nights and weekends around events and key deadlines.
Preferred Education
, Experience and Skills:
• Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Google Products.
• Experience with live event coverage, with experience producing live events.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Graphic design abilities.
