POSITION OVERVIEW
The Festival Coordinator, Press Information is charged with coordinating logistical duties to support the Press Office and media relations for the Sundance Institute and the annual Sundance Film Festival.
Working closely under the direction of the Manager, Communications and Publicity, the Festival Coordinator, Press Information supports Sundance Institute's commitment to artists and is part of furthering awareness, relevance, and impact of our mission.
This full-time, temporary position is based out of our Park City, Utah office from Wednesday, October 27, 2021 through Friday, February 11, 2022 with regular opportunities to work from home. Additionally this position may be lodged in Park City during the January Film Festival and will be required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned.
Top priorities include but are not limited to…
• Monitoring press coverage, entering coverage in the database, sending out daily press reports and creating high quality press coverage reports.
• Collaborating on the gathering, tracking, and reporting of artist and press demographic data, researching and verifying data and providing customized reports to departments.
• Tracking statistics and data for the Festival-at-a-Glance one-sheet.
• Creating a comprehensive Sundance Film Festival coverage report.
• Supporting digital Festival events such as junkets and screenings.
• Supporting the Manager, Accreditation with vetting journalists applying for Festival accreditation.
• Supporting team members during peak times.
• Writing a comprehensive wrap report.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 2 years experience in media relations, marketing, or related.
• Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a variety of people.
• Detail oriented, with the ability to audit work to avoid mistakes, and perform tasks accurately.
• Excellent organizational skills including self management of work schedule.
• Fluent with calculating basic statistics.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Strong capability with Microsoft Excel, working knowledge of databases, and proficiency in Google Products preferred.
• Experience in statistical analysis is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of media tracking platforms such as Cision, or Muckrack preferred.
