POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate Collab Product Owner is charged with bringing new digital experiences to life, from ideation of project requirements throughout their development, building, and launch.
Working closely under the direction of the Product Leads and the Technical Product Owner, the Associate Collab Product Owner will play a key role in helping the organization to build and deliver our re-platformed online education portal, Collab. Collab is a community platform for creators around the globe, providing a safe and nurturing space for artists to develop and share their new work. This position will work to support the Collab Re-platforming project aimed at refreshing and cleaning up the platform to provide an improved user experience. Extended hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends may be required at key points throughout the year.
Top priorities include but are not limited to…
• Overseeing project planning and management for the redesign of the Collab platform, including reporting status updates and tracking risks and issues.
• Interfacing with key Collab stakeholders to develop approaches to new product experience.
• Helping to create customer-facing and operations-facing experiences in accordance with Collab product plans.
• Drafting detailed wireframes and user flows, liaising with departments across the organization to ensure proper flow of information.
• Writing comprehensive requirements via user stories and acceptance criteria for the new Collab product.
• Working with colleagues to define integrations, data strategy, and other technical requirements.
• Developing acceptance testing plans alongside the Quality Assurance Manager for agile testing.
• Following the progress of tests, helping to address bugs and other issues that are uncovered.
• Creating performance metrics and tracking performance of products, surfacing insights to the team.
• Helping the Digital team implement efficient and agile product management practices across the Institute.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 3 or more years of experience in product management or development, ideally at a startup or in consulting.
• Experience in participating across teams as a self-starter who thrives in fast-moving work.
• A solid understanding of agile development best practices and the willingness to learn new technologies.
• Strong analytic skills and the ability to balance intuition with data.
• Ability to prioritize and manage considerable workload.
• Strong time and project management skills to move the project towards completion.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to comfortably work across teams.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Experience managing content-focused products in the education industry is preferred.
