The Artist Programs team is seeking a dynamic strategist with a love for driving diversity and inclusion initiatives (and passion for the arts) to serve as the seasonal Manager of Utah Community Engagement from March - August 2020.
Based in Park City, this role would develop and execute strategic initiatives to engage underrepresented communities across our Utah programs by collaborating with key departments and conducting outreach to external groups. The ideal candidate would have:
• Direct experience in community organizing, civic engagement, and/or social justice within a comparable art, culture or film organization.
• Demonstrated commitment to championing equity and access for underrepresented populations.
• Familiarity of Utah nonprofits, arts, and cultural organizations.
• Expertise working with diverse and multilingual communities.
• Experience curating and implementing film programs with a team of people
As the Community Engagement Manager, you would have the unique opportunity to…
• Serve as a Sundance Institute representative in the Salt Lake and Park City communities; including community meetings, partnership events, town halls, and local gatherings.
• Develop frameworks for increasing access to Sundance programs; including but not limited to the Sundance Film Festival and other program events.
• Curate audience engagement initiatives to introduce films, including planning and assigning onsite activations in collaboration with marketing and operations.
• Assist with identifying films to drive thoughtful discussions on issues important to community members
Other items on your to-do list include…
• Identify, cultivate, and nurture relationships with local organizations and leaders from underrepresented and diverse communities.
• Collaborate with the programming and marketing constituents to understand films chosen and recommend plans to identify which new audiences to outreach to different outreach approaches through print or virtual.
• Create, develop, and lead a staff committee whose focus is to design a unique program and create outreach materials to reach under-represented in our community programs.

• Dedicated team player with the ability to also work independently.
• A culturally competent individual with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; ability to connect well with others from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience implementing and executing programs with a team of people.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording, tracking and issuing information, etc.
• Excellent organizational skills including self-management of work schedule – ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with public speaking to large crowds to generate excitement.
• Ability to travel locally across Salt Lake City to meet with community constituents; flexibility to work nights and weekends around events and key deadlines.
• Able to speak and write Spanish fluently.
