Part Time Unpaid Internship
Employment Dates: 08/1/2018 - 11/30/2018
Considerations: This position works part time in our Los Angeles, CA office 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Work schedule may fluctuate due to deadlines which will push work hours to fall outside of our normal office hours (10-6pm).
Learning Goals and Objectives: The Programming intern will be immersed in the film programming processes and procedures for a large international film festival to learn the importance of setting standards and adhering to consistent processes to ensure equity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Processes and organizes film submissions.
• Assists with tracking and outreach of films currently in production, or which have premiered at other international film festivals.
• Contacts filmmakers via phone and email to assist them with the submission process, and to ensure we have accurate information.
• Assists with data entry of accurate film information in programming database.
• Working with film programmers, views and writes coverage for submitted films.
• Receives and responds to calls and emails from filmmakers with programming questions as they arise, escalates issues as appropriate.
• Additional assistance with all submitted short and feature-length films.
• Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal and professional skills required to work effectively with a variety of people.
• Excellent organizational skills including self management of work schedule.
• Ability to work early mornings, nights, and weekends around key deadlines.
• Must be able to maintain confidential information.
Preferred Education
, Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree or working towards degree in Film or related field.
• Knowledge of film programming and processing DVD duplications.
• Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Google Products.
