Full Time Job
Employment Dates: 10/24/2018-2/15/2019
Considerations: This position works full time out of our Park City, UT office. May be lodged in Park City during the Sundance Film Festival. Required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines. Must be willing and available to respond to on-call needs as assigned. A high level of mobility is required as well as an ability to drive safely in winter road conditions.
Position Summary: Coordinates the planning and execution of the Sundance Film Festival Student Screenings Program and Filmmakers in the Classroom Program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conducts outreach to Utah high school, junior high school, and middle school administrators and teachers to garner interest and participation in programs.
• Provides ongoing and timely communication for groups participating in programs.
• Acts as a representative for the programs to internal and external partners and responds to inquiries.
• Drafts correspondence and materials, including film schedules, film descriptions, cover letters, content notes, activation exercises, procedures, and evaluations.
• Maintains Utah Community contacts database with accurate and up-to-date information.
• Views films to ensure content and subject matter is appropriate for student audiences and helps select program films.
• Provides onsite execution and support to program screenings while working with theatre operations department to ensure operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
• Coordinates with artist relations department to ensure filmmakers or a film representative is scheduled to be present and participate in each screening.
• Assists with slotting and scheduling films for program screenings.
• Collects program statistics and materials for grant reporting.
• Completes a comprehensive wrap-report as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license and successful completion of DMV background check.
• 2 years experience in middle or high schools, community outreach, event planning, or related.
• Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal and professional skills required to work effectively with a variety of people.
• Excellent organizational skills including self management of work schedule.
• Must be able to maintain confidential information.
• Ability to work nights and weekends around events and key deadlines.
Preferred Education
, Experience and Skills:
• Knowledge of Utah school system.
• Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Google Products.
