Description: Interns have the unique opportunity to learn about the music industry and more specifically, the world of music publicity - a distinct and constantly changing field. Among the many things an intern will learn about include creating press releases, media alerts, press kits, advance media mailings, creative media campaigns specific to tours and album releases, managing guest lists, and how to pitch stories to press outlets. We look to tailor each internship to fit the interests and talents of each individual intern. Our interns will become familiar with national and regional media outlets across multiple platforms, including: blogs, late night and morning TV shows, magazines (print and digital iPad/iPhone app-based), radio and podcasts, newspapers, websites, and webzines.
Interns will work closely with the owner of Stunt Company as well as all Stunt Company employees, each with a unique background in music. In addition, when artists from our roster come to play shows, the interns will have the opportunity to attend the show as well as meet managers, booking agents and label representatives. Please check out our website and artist roster.
About Us: Independent music Publicity Company which strives to raise awareness of music of our artists through creative press campaigns designed for print, online, broadcast, and visual media. We represent artists across a diverse spectrum of ideas and styles and work with a number of major and indie labels as well as independent artists.
Internship activities/duties:
Help lay out press clips from website and print publications
Organize press clips into current, working press kits for clients
Create and send email blasts (about song/video premieres, features, album releases and streams, etc)
Send out press releases to our press list
Create and send market specific blasts to a Neilson designated tour market that an artist is playing
Research and help keep out contacts updated - as the landscape in press changes, people shift jobs and freelance positions regularly
Reach out to venue promoters to obtain media lists
If intern desires, we can help interns learn how to structure and write press releases
Ultimate goal is to teach intern how to craft a pitch, whether that's around a tour date, a song, an album, or for an interview - and for them to understand how to navigate a full press campaign around a tour or album release
