Role Description
The Conference Programming Associate for SXSW EDU works as part of the programming team to plan, produce, and execute on a robust program for the 2019 event in March. They support conference programming efforts from main stage engagements to concurrent sessions and workshops. The role is best suited for a collaborative candidate with strong communication skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a high-stress and fast-paced environment. The Conference Programming Associate is key to the session advancement process, working with organizers and speakers at each stage to communicate logistics, support outreach, and manage internal databases.

Basic Duties
• Manage the SXSW EDU Mentor program under the direction of the Conference Programming Manager
• Assist in research and review of curated programming as needed
• Assist in review and selection of concurrent programming as needed
• Support conference programming efforts for sessions, workshops, and conference programs
• Communicate with organizers and speakers on logistics, and handle inbox and phone support for SXSW EDU Programming
• Manage session information and compile assets for programming as it relates to marketing and promotion
• Assist in internal processing, tracking, and logistics for conference programming
• Support and coordinate programming onsite across all venues
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• 1 year of experience in Education or Event Planning
• Ability to Multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter with strong prioritization and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer service experience
• Strong attention to detail, copy-editing experience
• Proficiency with Mac OS and the Google suite
• FileMaker experience recommended
• Must be available through the event in March 2019
