Music Partner Programming Intern
The Senior Music Partner Programming Manager manages music programming in collaboration with some of SXSW's most high profile clients working closely internally with Music Festival Programmers, Sponsorships & Special Projects teams, Business Development Managers, and Account Managers. The Music Partner Programming intern will work on various assignments dealing with partnerships, talent booking and relations, research of company/ brand initiatives, marketing, and logistical planning (pre-event and onsite) as it pertains to music across SXSW Festivals (Interactive, Film, and Music). Administrative tasks related to event planning such as thorough information management, data entry, and organizing credential pick-up will be required.
Candidates will learn:
• How to effectively collaborate and communicate with various internal stakeholders, brands (whether with clients directly or their agency(s)), and artist teams in a fast paced environment
• How to prioritize and organize information and meet deadlines
• The process of talent booking
• The logistics behind planning and executing activations
Administrative Duties:
• Maintaining various spreadsheet updates
• Listening to invited artists and researching talent
• Staying up to date with client initiatives and product launches through consistent research
• Verifying correct online client listings for various events
Qualifications
Candidates should:
• Show a deep understanding of current music trends (across genres)
• Have an interest in brand marketing and events
• Be highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to multitask
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be comfortable taking direction and working under pressure
• Possess a sense of professionalism in working with various personalities
• Be age 21 or over
Availability
The position runs mid-late November 2019 – March 27, 2019. A time commitment of 20 hours a week with full-time availability during SXSWeek from March 13-22 is required. There will be longer hours leading up to the event, including optional Saturday meetings. This position requires living and working from Austin, Texas for the duration of stated dates.
