SVP, Total Rewards
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, GLOBAL TOTAL REWARDS
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, People & Organization (P&O), the Senior Vice President, Global Total Rewards is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Global Total Rewards philosophy and strategy, encompassing compensation and benefits for Sony Pictures Entertainment , a $10B, 10,000-person subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation. This individual will work closely with the Chief People Officer, EVP, P&O, P&O leadership team and the Sony's Entertainment Compensation Committee to reimagine the Global Total Rewards strategy given the rapid transformation of the competitive marketplace for talent. They will also work to grow and develop a team of global compensation and benefits experts, while creating and fostering a culture of collaboration, engagement, and innovation.
The ideal individual will have experience leading Total Rewards for a large corporate entity, preferably for some time in either media or technologies. Experience working with one of the top Compensation Consulting companies such as Mercer, Croner, Willis Towers & Radford is a plus. The individual should be innovative, creative, proactive, and anticipatory in approach, possess excellent judgment in a variety of situations, demonstrate superior written and oral communication skills, have a high attention to detail and demonstrate the ability to balance multiple priorities in a diverse, fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As a representative of People & Organization (HR), the successful candidate must also maintain the highest level of confidentiality and diplomacy. Responsibilities
• Evaluate our current Global Total Rewards philosophy, strategy to identify opportunities to improve programs and practices across the discipline.
• Develop and execute a long-term Global Total Rewards vision and roadmap to ensure our programs and practices are competitive with the external market and internally equitable.
• Collaborate with the P&O leadership team, and their key clients to better understand our talent acquisition and retention ''pain points,'' and develop plans to address them proactively and comprehensively in order to meets business objectives.
• As part of our approach to compensation, spearhead the development of a job architecture that supports career progression and internal movement, sets clear job leveling criteria (support, professional and management job levels) and is supported by a process that is simple to understand, maintain and calibrate to market competitive salary ranges.
• Evaluate Sony Pictures' overall market and competitive position including survey strategy, benchmarking approach, design of salary ranges, incentive compensation (short and long term), benefits and executive compensation.
• Manage a team of compensation and benefits professionals, providing hands-on guidance and mentorship.
Qualifications
• Years of Experience: 15+ years of experience in compensation and benefits, media and technology preferred. Experience working for a top Compensation Consulting organization is a plus.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, or related discipline preferred.
• Total Rewards Focus: Experience in a large-scale, multibillion-dollar companies is required, along with a successful track record of building and leading teams, partnering with C-Suite executives and collaborating with Compensation Committees.
• Innovation and Expertise: Passion for, and experience in, building new, competitive and highly engaging compensation and benefits programs, including extensive knowledge of global compensation plan design (fixed, variable, long-term and equity-based), benefit plan design and executive compensation process and programs. Bring expertise across compensation focus areas, including market analytics, job architecture, career mapping, and program design based on a sound set of leveling criteria.
• Appreciation for Data: Highly analytical and proactive. Capable of building a culture of continuous analytics designed to monitor competitiveness in industry competition and react quickly and flexibly as the market shifts. Pay Equity analysis experience is critical.
• Cross Team Collaborator: Experience building and maintaining strong cross-functional partnerships. Able to partner closely with business leaders in legal, finance, IT, and communications. Track record of being able to influence stakeholders with competing priorities, and differing opinions, toward a common goal while understanding what is right for the business. Provide ongoing direction and guidance to P&O Business Partners, managers, analysts, and other professionals on the general application of policy or on the design, development and management of new initiatives or programs.
• Operational Excellence: Drive process simplification and automation (particularly as we embark on a new WORKDAY Implementation). Develop a strong partnership with Talent Acquisition, that allows for a simple and quick process for recruiters, candidates, and employees to communicate all aspects of our Total Rewards Compensation package.
• Communication and Education: Support Sony Picture's culture of ''Taking Care'' of employees by engaging employees globally through consistent, and engaging communications and programs, including training, info sessions, written/digital catalogs, newsletters and vendor programs.
• Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to U.S. compensation standards and principles. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
• Systems: Experience with market pricing systems such as Towers Watson Reward, Mercer Prism, Market Pay or Salary.com/Kenexa Comp Analyst. Advanced Excel skills, People fluent and Workday Advanced Compensation software experience a plus.

This role is based in our Culver City, CA office (regular in-office work is required). Some US and international travel may be required.
