Marketing Operations Intern - Summer 2022
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allows you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, valuable networking opportunities, and many educational and social opportunities. This Summer Internship is from May/June through August and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Marketing Operations is responsible for getting our marketing material, whether it be a trailer, digital spot, or outdoor billboard in front of audiences. Our mission is to master, localize, and distribute thousands of marketing assets necessary to successfully market our films. We are configured to be extremely agile in order to handle large volumes in extremely short timelines on a global scale.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work closely with the head of Physical Logistics and AV Traffick to ensure accurate and timely delivery of TV and digital spots
• Provide support for AV distribution platform users, including finding files on the platform, confirming accurate metadata, re-filing assets based on user needs, etc.
• Maintain and communicate all logistics-related deadline schedules and costs
• Track quality, quantity, transport costs, and delivery timelines
• Secure accurate price quotes from logistics vendors based on established rate cards
• Provide support for AV distribution platform users, including finding files on the platform, confirming accurate metadata, re-filing assets based on user needs, etc.
• Work with the department head to analyze various operational workflows and identify opportunities for improvement. This may entail collecting and analyzing operational data, benchmarking competitors, and reviewing industry best practices when formulating performance modifications and implementing improvements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergrad student
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes; able to prioritize work to meet deadlines
• Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities with strong project management skills and attention to detail
• Quick learner with energy to drive aggressive and flexible deadlines while managing multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and the maintenance of a supportive work environment
• Self-starter with a great work ethic and demonstrated excellence in customer service.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerBI
