Information Governance Analysis Intern, Corporate IT - Summer 2019
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allow you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, valuable networking opportunities, and many educational and social opportunities while on the lot. This Summer internship is from May/June through mid-August. All candidates must be able to work between 40 hours a week.
The Information Security department manages overall information security risks posed to the company. The department provides multiple services to support all SPE lines of business. Our team focuses on Information Governance, Privacy, and Information Security Awareness and Training programs and initiatives.
Information Governance
• Improve overall management of data, with more efficient retrieval of retained data, meet legal and business data retention obligations; and enable defensible disposition of redundant data;
• Implement appropriate governance frameworks, policies and processes for information management activities in order to manage risk appropriately;
• Influence selection of new technology, appropriate to security, legal, compliance and business needs; and enable decommission of system applications
• Implement and manage data loss protection program
Training & Awareness Program
• Educate and raise awareness of SPE employees of their roles and responsibilities to safeguard and protect SPE corporate data and information
Privacy
• Implement and maintain Sony global privacy policy and framework
• Maintain the inventory of personal information assets in order to property determine the scope of privacy regulations
• Facilitate with other stakeholders in order to manage privacy compliance assessment programs
• Perform information security and privacy impact assessments for new technologies
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The candidate will work alongside the Information Governance teams as well as team members from information technology, legal, and various business groups to support our privacy and information governance initiatives and programs.
• The primary Training and Awareness responsibilities of the intern will include: 1) streamlining collection and dissemination of Training and Awareness metrics; 2) participating in awareness events and building awareness campaigns; 3) assisting with report creation and presentation of training and awareness milestones to key stakeholders.
• The primary Information Governance responsibilities of the intern will include: 1) supporting and participating in business impact assessments to assess the criticality and sensitivity of information and systems; 2) assisting in development of visually appealing reports that provide updates and metrics on key initiatives and programs; 3) participating in a review and re-design of Information Governance SharePoint site.
• The candidate will also have opportunity to work with leads in SPE's Data Loss Prevention Program and Privacy Program.
• The candidate will gain practical, relevant experience on information classification, privacy and business impact assessments, and risk management; use of governance, risk and compliance (eGRC); learn about reporting metrics and messaging for various levels in the organization; learn about global retention laws and regulations that impact business organizations as well as specific privacy laws and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• General awareness and interest in cyber security risks & trending threats.
• General awareness and interest in privacy
• Use of Tableau to prepare and present metrics and data
• Well-developed interpersonal communication, oral, written and presentation skills); the ability to disseminate information in a clear, professional manner
• Use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Visio, Project and SharePoint
• Attention to detail and accuracy
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Background and/or interest in training and awareness, information governance and/or information security
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
