Media Networks Financial Analysis Intern, Sony Pictures Television - Spring 2019
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. This Spring internship is from January to May. All candidates must be able to work between 10-29 hours.
Media Networks Finance is part of Sony Pictures Television and has 90 fully operated domestic & international channels in India, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Africa. The Media Networks Finance Planning group is responsible for the consolidation, analysis, and reporting of quarterly forecasts (FRM), annual Budget, and Mid-Range Plan (MRP).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create/update internal schedules in preparation of Budget, Forecasts, and MRP.
• Assist with confirming/managing data in the IPS planning system
• Update by-region spreads in IPS with Cash actuals
• Update historical FX, P&L, and Cash schedules
• Attend meetings with regional Business Managers to understand cause of change from prior plans
• Other Ad hoc reporting & projects based on requests
The intern will gain experience/exposure to the following:
• Quarterly (Q2, Q3) and multi-year (2018 MRP) forecasting consolidation, review, analysis, and submission
• Insight into what drives Profit & Loss and Cash Flow variances from plans
• General understanding of the Media Networks business
• Exposure to other teams within Media Networks (staff meetings, team building events)
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong Excel skills (including Vlookup, If/Then formulas)
• Attention to detail; strong organizational and communication skills
• Intellectual curiosity and analytical mind
• Ability to handle projects with limited supervision
• Interest in entertainment industry
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate student studying in relevant field able to work part time hours while in school
