Senior Vice President, Franchise Marketing
The SVP, U.S. Franchise Marketing reports to the President of Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and is a pivotal, internal and external partner-facing leader that establishes and sustains marketing, promotional and ancillary business strategies for all original Sony Pictures Television Studios series across all distribution platforms including; broadcast, cable and digital platforms. This role manages marketing activation within all operational windows including: development, production, launch, and sustaining activities during the complete life cycle of SPT Television series including downstream windows. Leading both the franchise and digital marketing teams, they will continually evaluate both long and short-term brand, digital and ancillary business strategies modifying them to achieve evolving business results.
The Franchise Marketing team leads brand building initiatives, aligned with SPT rights and goals, including partnering on merchandising, home entertainment and other ancillary revenue producing activities in conjunction with relevant SPE departments and third parties. The Digital Marketing team is responsible for developing, creating and supporting digital and social-based marketing initiatives across all Sony Pictures Television (SPT) properties with an eye toward increasing series awareness, tune-in and maximizing digital revenue.
Key constituents of the SVP will include executives of SPT distribution partners (i.e., network), show-runners, US Production, development and current programming executives, SPT media and talent relations, International Distribution marketing, US Distribution marketing, SPE Consumer Products and the Home Entertainment team supporting physical and EST releases.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Guide strategic marketing efforts to build each series into a long-term asset for SPT, our US distribution partners, and for our international distribution partners.
• Support, extend and enhance the distribution partner's (i.e., network's) initiatives. Developing excellent relationships with counterparts (CMO) at associated distribution platform is critical to success in this role.
• Create and execute SPT Franchise marketing plans with an emphasis on building awareness, driving ratings and exploiting revenue opportunities.
• Develop and execute unique and effective marketing tactics across all forms of media (Traditional, Digital, Social, Mobile) to maximize ratings of SPT show brands across all distribution platforms.
• Establish, nurture and manage relationships with marketing and non-marketing peers at US distribution partners (i.e., Broadcast, Cable and Digital Networks) to ensure that all potential partnership and support opportunities are realized to maximize ratings.
• Develop and manage per-show marketing budgets to maximize ROI. Ensure that budgets are planned and executed with accuracy and that departmental and corporate timelines are met.
• Build cross-functional relationships with internal teams including SPT Marketing, Development, Current Programming, Production, Creative Services, Media Relations, International, SPT Networks, Consumer Products, Research, Home Entertainment, Sales, Finance, Business Affairs and Legal to build cohesive, coordinated and broad reaching experiences with SPT brands.
• Create efficiencies and organize processes to maximize opportunities across SPT International, Home Entertainment, merchandising, SVOD and off-network distribution window leaders.
• Build and maintain relationships with niche and mainstream agencies that can be called upon to deliver and execute on SPT marketing strategies.
• Identify, maintain and communicate all SPT rights beyond the initial run (i.e., ''downstream'' windows and platforms, such as Home Entertainment and US Syndication) to maximize revenue derived from the Franchise.
CORE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor Degree required. Master Degree a plus.
• 10 years of experience in a television marketing strategy leadership role.
• Requires knowledge of television show brand life cycles such as U.S. network /cable/ digital television production and distribution, EST, Home Entertainment, and SVOD.
• The selected candidate will have experience utilizing various paid and earned media strategies across all traditional, digital, social and mobile platforms.

• Interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with network and cable partners, internal partners, production team, show producers, talent and sales force
• Ability to lead and inspire a team and ensure their work aligns with the vision and strategy defined by both US Production and SPT
