Senior Sales Planning Analyst
What is the job?
The role of Senior Analyst covers four key areas: Deal Management & Administration, Forecasting & Planning, Sales Analysis, and Title Inventory management. The role works across the following media – Pay, Free, Basic, SVOD, PPV, VOD, AVOD & Formats.
The candidate will have a passion for content and a broad understanding of the distribution business necessary to support the sales process. S(he) will be a highly motivated individual, able to work under direction and with a level of independence.
What will I be doing?
Deal Management & Administration
• Set up & maintain deals in Sales & Rights Management systems
• Analyse linear and Digital rights in the contract and accurately record in our systems
• Manage contractual obligations and meet all deadlines as detailed in the contracts
• Uphold Sales Planning Procedures by seeking appropriate reviews and sign offs at all times, maintaining accurate and up to date records and storing key documentation in appropriate systems and folders.
• Track the workflow of contract, amendment, notification processes for every deal, client schedules, availability lists and ad hoc reports.
• Preparation and review of Release Packages (including fee allocations, checking accuracy of overage calculations and processing changes in the systems)
• Assist and track progress of deal execution
- Work closely with Sales and Legal during contract drafting as required
- Prepare deal memo/term sheet/short-form
- Provide information & documentation to Legal
- Track progress through to final signature/ execution
• Client Support:
- Develop a good working relationship with clients, including regular liaison with local Agent in Turkey; attend external meetings as required. Engage with customer and provide sales support.
- Field questions from client regarding all aspects of the deal – e.g. billing discrepancies, servicing issues, US Network scheduling changes.
• Internal Relationships:
- Liaison with Finance to ensure timely payment of. Support Home Office with audits by preparing required back-up materials for each deal. Tracking of deferred clients accounts and follow up with Accounting and Finance on cash payment allocations to reflect in budgets.
- Liaising frequently with GMS (Materials Fulfillment team) to ensure we are able to plan and provide assets on time for new and existing deals.
- Investigate questions for Finance/Legal/Marketing/GMS as required
- Participate in systems training and testing
• Create and maintain relationships with contacts in other key divisions including Home Entertainment, Theatrical, Home Office, Legal, Marketing, Finance, GMS, IT.
• Work closely with the office Administrator, provide training and supervise basic sales planning tasks (Deal logs updates, Agreements filing and upload in RPM)
Sales Analysis
• Support negotiations of new deals and re-negotiations with analysis, working with direction from SP Director, Sales and Head of Analysis
• Maximise revenue for active Volume Deals through proactive tracking of title performance and product windowing and slot utilisation.
• Responsible for sales planning and deal management for formats deals in the Middle East and Turkey: agreements review with legal, system updates and deal processing
• Ad hoc projects and prepare information for TV Markets as requested by the Sales Team. Analyse title performance; profile SPT products and market competitors. Collaborate with the research team for market studies and conduct analysis and discussions to help new sales strategies.
Title Inventory Management
• Analyse reports for available product and identify appropriate titles that meet client and sales criteria in order to maintain an accurate record of product to maximise the sales potential.
• Ensuring up-to-date, accurate Avails lists are maintained at all times.
• Window management - Maximise window opportunities for all product and ensure sales plans for the territories are maintained.
• Curate avails and create themed packaging for Library and Current titles.
• Coordinate with SPHE to explore unsold Acquisitions titles for additional sales opportunities.
• Collaborate with SPHE to coordinate/approve the release of TV product with SPHE (based on local broadcast dates). Ensure the maintenance of list of transmission schedules for Series sold in the Territory, to allow for EST/Physical release in a timely manner.
• Identify and package products through their knowledge of SPT's library.
Forecasting & Planning
• Take ownership for ensuring all deals and data in systems are accurate and up to date.
• Maintain annual forecast, process changes in a timely manner and keep Sales Planning Director and Sales Teams informed of updates regularly
• Responsible for co-ordinating and entering mid-range plan information for relevant territories & media
• Create and provide summaries and updates, utilising system functionalities, to Sales & Finance
• Attend and contribute to regular forecast review meetings with Territory Sales, Planning and Finance
What do I need to catch the eye?
• Educated to minimum undergraduate degree level
• Previous experience in a similar environment - Media Industry or Finance background a plus
• Strong computer skills, in particular Excel (pivot tables, formulas), comfortable learning new systems
• Excellent Arabic & English Language skills both spoken and written, must be confident in communicating in English
• Problem Solving & Decision making – demonstrates an ability to address root causes of problems, identify alternatives and propose solutions.
• Proactive, flexible and adaptable – anticipate needs in different situations and takes appropriate action with guidance and on own initiative
• Highly numerate with excellent attention to all details – accuracy, presentation and completeness.
• Excellent communication skills, client-facing position
• Team player who is willing and able to assist colleagues during busy periods. Demonstrate an effort to reach out, work with and collaborate with resources outside their territory and region
