Senior Manager Corporate Communications, EMEA
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, EMEA to join our London office. This role will work with the SVP, Corporate Communications to lead corporate messaging for all lines of business for Sony Pictures Television in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The position will work with SPT's international production, distribution and networks divisions to formulate communication strategies which support and help drive key business objectives.
The role will include management of European trade press to ensure strategic business coverage and the generation of tactical communication plans; executive communications; internal communications; liaison with Sony sister companies and SPE corporate communications departments.
Candidates with previous experience in these areas, particularly with proven experience working with production companies from a studio perspective, are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide ongoing communications support for SPT's European production business, including formats, scripted and unscripted production, interacting with local production companies and teams.
• Provide ongoing communications support for SPT's distribution sales business across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Engage directly with key clients on trade press communications to ensure accurate messaging and to support key SPT business objectives.
• Provide ongoing corporate communications support for SPT's European networks business interacting with local network's teams as needed to ensure the communication of broader SPT messages to the international trade press.
• Generate press releases and key trade coverage for SPT production entities and content, as well as new business ventures and other important business-related activity.
• Identify, evaluate and secure opportunities to promote SPT executives and content at key industry events and markets.
• Liaise directly with European business heads and key sales execs to effectively monitor and respond to changing business communication needs; assist in developing strategic communication plans.
• Assist in crisis communications and issues management within Europe.
• Generate press interviews with key media that address and effectively profile targeted business messages that are in line with agreed strategic communication objectives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key trade industry journalists, editors and publications across Europe.
• Assist in media training for key executives across the business lines in Europe.
• Assist in developing and executing internal communications to SPT executives and staff across Europe.
• Any other duties as may reasonably be requested.
Qualifications
and/or Experience Required
• Typically 5 years media related corporate communications experience, with direct experience working with production companies from a studio perspective.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience of working across multiple European markets to ensure comprehensive understanding of territory specific communication needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain sound working relationships internally and externally.
• Demonstrated success in devising and executing strategic communication objectives.
• Self-motivated team player and facilitator.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple issues under pressure and in a dynamic/changing environment.
• Previous experience working at a production company or studio preferred.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent experience required.
