Senior Financial Analyst, Network Audits – SPT
Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is a full service producer and distributor of television programs for broadcast, cable and digital networks including CBS, ABC FBC, NBC, AMC, F/X, TNT, Lifetime.
The Senior Financial Analyst, Network Audits, is responsible for the scheduling, reviewing, and management of all external production audits with the various broadcast and cable networks. The audits of production costs are done before payments are processed by the various networks. The Analyst is accountable for the projects that are being audited by the various networks. The auditing includes, but is not limited to, preparation of audit package, scheduling of the audit with the respective contact at the various packagers, research of supporting documentation and consultation on the various audit points. In addition the position is responsible for interacting with Business Affairs related to the language of the deals. Upon completion and sign off, this position is responsible for the P&L reporting of the audit dis-allowances as they relate to the AR and the related reserve.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare packages for 3rd party audit inclusive of all the reporting/audit requirements
• Review contractual information to ensure that appropriateness and scope of audit as it relates to billings
• Coordinate scheduling of audits with 3rd party through completion of audit and substantiation of audit disallowances.
• Reporting of audit resolution and the related revenue recognition of collection.
• Prepare and audit Union escalations/short rates and related breakages.
• Responsible to coordinate with Billing & Collections the related accounting for accounts receivables, bad debt allowances, the status of audits and the collection of audited billings.
• Prepare monthly credit memos and journal entries for all completed and collectible audited AR.
• Monitor & complete monthly audit status & checklists
• Review & document procedures and provide requested documentation during the audit:
• Coordinate documentation to 3rd party auditors with TV Production accounting teams
• Coordinate documentation to networks for items billed
• Coordinate with Business Affairs any issues as they relate to the contractual language under audit
• Prepare schedules/reports for the monthly close packages
• Prepare and review journal entries and provide corresponding source documentation for Reserve/Contra AR
• Prepare financial analyses and reconciliations of completed signed off audits as they relate to P&L and the balance sheet.
• Complete special projects as needed
• Provide reporting to third parties and other internal groups, as necessary
• Contribute to / enhance SPT audit process and work flows
Requirements:
Experience
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics
• 4 years of public and/or private accounting/finance experience
• Entertainment Industry / Television Finance/Production Accounting experience is a plus
• CPA is preferred
Skills

• Knowledge and prior experience with SAP/Vista is highly desired
• Knowledge of TV production and TV production accounting is a must
