Sales & Distribution Manager, Operation
Position Summary
The Sales Operation Manager will be responsible for business activities relating to theatrical film operation in Taiwan. This includes all aspects of box office reporting and analysis, sales administration and film operations. This role ensures that all release strategies are executed according to the agreed plans.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting Sales & Distribution Director in the management of key theatrical accounts as follows:
• Setting release dates in accordance with Home Office guidelines and awareness of competitive films
• Evaluation of the financial viability of each release involving understanding of marketing and print costs
• Entering all contracts for films for the major exhibitors in DEX and ensuring all keys (initial and holdover) are ordered according to the contract
• Alerting contract terms in the event of box office performance variation from initial forecast
• Ensuring each circuit acts in accordance with the responsibilities granted to them in the booking confirmation letter
• Working with marketing team on sales related Ad/Pub budget
Executing the following activities for all Sony and acquisition titles:
• Applying for censorship on all films and trailers
• Ensuring all prints and trailers are distributed to cinemas and hard drives returned from cinemas
• Ensuring all relevant competitor data is in Interplan
• Ensuring Interplan is updated with all necessary information, such as Release Date changes against Competition, Film Rental estimates, tracking of Trailers and Prints, Censorship, Local Titles, Exhibition Terms and school holidays.
• Managing all Print Inventory.
• Managing digital databases as necessary.
• Arranging all screenings as requested by Marketing team.
Assisting the credit collection function as follows:
• Flash Grosses: Daily review of flash gross interface to ensure that it loaded correctly. Correct any errors. Resolve any queries regarding variances between flash and actual grosses which may arise at time of billing. Research and advise Finance same day to avoid billing delays.
• Collection of actual Box Office Reports (BOR's): Weekly monitoring of overdue BOR's
Qualifications
• University or above education, degree in business or film related field.
• 5 years' relevant experience in a sales role within an international division of a studio or major independent theatrical distributor, and/or experience in a large or global entertainment organization
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, in both English and Chinese
• Must be a team player and able to cope with forward planning and react quickly to changes in strategy
• MS Office Suite, Excel proficiency required. PowerPoint presentation skill is essential
• Must possess exceptional organizational and follow thru skills and be able to multi-task, prioritize with attention to detail, and work to deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally
