Publicity Manager - Freelancer (Maternity cover – Feb to Aug 2019)
Based in Beijing and reporting to Associate Director, Marketing. The Publicity manager is responsible for public relations strategies in local for new movie releases in China. This role should have a broad net of media contacts, is a strategic thinker and is a trusted partner and counsellor to various internal and external groups.
Main Responsibilities:
• Make publicity strategy and plan.
• Draft press release articles.
• Manage third-party agencies to maximize PR exposure on TV, print, online/mobile and social media.
• Monitor publicity buzz on daily basis and identify areas for adjustment in a dynamic way.
• Craft the overall messaging of the PR campaign and ensure that messages are communicated across the whole campaign in a unified manner.
• Maintain good relationship with press and KOL.
• Work closely with the publicity team in HO to address local needs and to report campaign status and results.
• Plan and manage media events such as junket, press conference and premiere.
• Explore co-promotion opportunities with TV outlets and online video platforms.
• Coordinate with digital executive to develop content for SPRI's social platforms.
• Local trailers and publicity materials.
• Support PR events from third-party brand partners whenever needed.
• Serve as the official media contact point for SPRI China.
• Explore co-promotion opportunities with TVOD and SVOD for franchise titles.
Requirements:
• Degree in Communications, Journalism or Marketing preferred
• 3 – 5 years' work experience in the PR function; experience in international agency a plus
• Good strategic thinking equipped with contemporary knowledge and skills of consumer PR in a digital and socialized environment
• Good at team working, engage and influence other stake holders to achieve common goal
• Open-minded, result oriented with good communication skills (written and spoken) in both English and Chinese
• Capability and good temperament to manage relationships with both industries stake holders as well as media partners
• Strong leadership and initiatives to make a difference. A proactive driver who has passion for winning
• Experience with movie related campaigns a plus
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines
