Presentation Scheduler (6 month FTC)
Context:
Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks operates branded entertainment channels around the world. The channels offer high quality film and television content from Sony Pictures and third party distributors, as well as original content commissioned globally and locally. SPT's networks portfolio includes 124 channel feeds, which are available in 159 countries reaching more than 840 million households worldwide.
The UK SPT Networks group currently have an exciting opportunity for a Scheduler to join their London team on a 6 month fixed term basis.
Working under the guidance of and reporting to the Scheduling Manager the responsibilities of the role will include, but not be limited to:
• Work under the guidance of and reports to the Director of Scheduling and Operations
• Create daily presentation schedules and support all schedulers the respective channels with the responsibility of scheduling promotional inventory and advertising- including secondary events and graphics.
• Liaise with transmission suite over successful uploading of presentation schedules and to attend to matters
• arising.
• Liaise with On-Air and Playout to ensure smooth planning and operation of daily programming grid co-ordinated with technical scheduling requirements.
• View all on-air materials to ensure they comply with the brand specification and OFCOM regulations.
• Contribute to the production of monthly schedule of promotional requirements for the channel in conjunction with On Air Director.
• Liaise with On Air, Sales and Marketing teams and third parties to ensure commercials, sponsorship and cross-promotions are processed accordingly.
• Produce commercial transmission reports for global and regional ad. sales and marketing.
• Contribute to management of departmental workload and provides cover for the scheduling team as required.
• Work in a collaborative manner with all channel teams and provides advice and support to regional offices.
• Contribute to the optimisation of the scheduling work flow to ensure a reliable and time efficient operation of the channel.
• Responsible for managing and maintaining on-air promotional campaign activities and reporting for our media plans for the channel
Who we're looking for:
• The ideal candidate will generally have 3 years TV scheduling experience.
• Familiarity with relevant scheduling software and systems (Vision) or similar scheduling software.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of OFCOM compliance regulations
• Requires understanding of overall channel positioning objective and desired on-air look
• Must have a passion for television, an awareness of changes in digital media consumption, and ideas for exploiting them to the benefit of the channel.
• Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team.
• The ability to demonstrate initiative and work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Effective time management and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of internal and external contacts, and the ability to deal with contacts with tact and sensitivity.
• Resilience and stamina to sustain performance when under pressure from a high volume of work and conflicting priorities.
• Would be required to understand other aspects of the TV business and the general media environment, and overall industry trends in the channels regions
• International exposure and experience of working in a large corporate environment.
• Multi-Cultural aware and foreign language skills desirable but not essential.
