JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manager of Digital spearheads the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities of the Sony Pictures Animation Digital and Social Media department, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Publicity.
Tasks include leading the brainstorming of ideas and strategies on all aspects of the SPA digital campaigns, content creation for social media, writing post copy and scripts for original content, scheduling posts, reporting and analyzing performance, and recommending campaign phases and adjustments based on findings, as well as overseeing the quality of all content created by other units in support of SPA.
Responsibilities:
• Spearhead the conception, development, maintenance, optimization and reporting of social media campaigns in a collaborative, cross-discipline team environment, including internally at SPA and with our partners at SPE.
• Produce original content for all channels including custom graphics, GIFs, original video content (including interviews, live events and coverage of production records and research trips), and behind the scenes vignettes.
• Oversee the quality of all digital content created in support of SPA and SPA titles by SPE, SPHE, SPRI, Affirm and IMPS as well as Sony-hired agencies.
• Manage the export and delivery of all SPA digital content for partners; act as a technical liaison between production teams and vendors/SPE for asset delivery on digital projects.
• Formulate a long-term social media plan and schedule posts on all SPA channels, adjusting weekly for optimal performance, on-brand messaging and audience engagement.
• Leverage expertise in Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Maya (a plus) to create graphic designs for all online & offline needs; professionally shoot, cut and edit videos in tandem with the Digital Content Supervisor including SPE's EPK interview soundbites and recording session b-roll.
• Write creative pitches and campaign support documentation; help oversee the shooting and edit of all digital content originated by SPA and work with SPE, SPRI and SPHE on optimal placement.
• Travel, both domestically and internationally, to cover publicity events such as film festivals, conferences, press tours and research trips.
• Set goals for audience growth and retention, based on organic post content and media supported campaigns.
• Monitor the status of active social campaigns, including alerting senior stakeholders regarding any perceived shifts in community conversation.
• Prepare reports on the status of active campaigns and research competitor's social media campaigns.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices and other information beneficial to clients and colleagues and report both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications:
• 3 years of professional social media experience required, 5 years preferred.
• 3 years of experience in graphic design and video editing required.
• Professional working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects) required; familiarity with Autodesk Maya a plus.
• Professional experience with Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube required.
• Experience in animation or studio
