The Role – 12 month paid placement from July 2020
Based in Paddington, Sony Pictures Televisions Networks Marketing have an exciting opportunity suited to undergraduate students, looking for a year in industry as part of their degree, to experience the fast-paced environment of TV networks marketing!
Our marketing team works diligently to create a strong brand presence for the channels and drive new and current viewers to tune into our programming. Successful candidates in these placements will work on the marketing for our UK children's channels.
Over the course of this placementswe will aim to give you a solid grounding of all elements of marketing and PR for individual programme launches as well as channel brand management. You will gain an inside look at what it takes to create a marketing campaign from start to finish ensuring that our programs and channels get the best coverage in the media and entice people to tune in through creative means.
There will be opportunities for involvement in all aspects of consumer and trade marketing including publicity campaigns, traditional advertising, digital and social marketing (owned and paid), briefing and delivering creative, branding (on-air and off-air) and media planning.
Key responsibilities include:
Marketing
• Working in a support capacity for all campaigns above-the-line and below-the-line
• Helping with the ideating, defining, managing and executing campaign deliverables
• Day to day contact for picture/asset enquiries from platforms and third parties
• Liaising with production and distribution partners regarding key assets and materials including imagery, footage and copyright
• Building PCAs and case studies outlining key insights post campaign
• Tracking/sharing of best practices and competitor campaigns
• Assisting team in building presentations for key internal and external meetings
• Ordering branded merchandise and sourcing prizes
• Assisting in the management of the social content calendar
PR
• Working closely with external publicity agencies to make sure they have assets and information they require
• Production and distribution of monthly highlights to key partners and listing publications
• Drafting press releases and generating creative angles for news coverage
• Distribution of media materials
• Research for PR initiatives
• Management of special events / screenings / junkets / press opportunities

Candidate Requirements:
Whilst there is no prerequisite degree for the role, you will demonstrate a passion for marketing and the TV industry, as well have a keen creative eye and be a confident communicator.
You should also be able to meet and demonstrate the following criteria:

• Entrepreneurial approach and a keen sense of 'process'
• Creative flair and passion
• Demonstrable analytical and numeracy skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Task and results orientated
• MS Office Suite required, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
