Interior Designer Coordinator, Facilities Design and Project Management
This Design Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Design and Architecture, Facilities Design Project Management, and work closely with the Sr. Facilities Systems Manager, Facilities Administration. The primary role of the Design Coordinator will be to work within all phases the design of small projects (categorized as 300-3,000 s.f.); respond to the day-to-day client furniture requests through the deployment of company inventory or the purchase of new furniture; and provide interior design and AutoCAD support to the design team on larger more complex projects. The Design Coordinator will also support tasks related to the facility space management system, Archibus. This position requires the ability to manage several tasks and projects concurrently and re- prioritize as needed to accommodate a fluid work environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Organizational Interface
• Demonstrates commitment to professionalism, integrity, and sound independent judgement
• Provides the highest level of customer service to a wide variety of client-types, some holding the highest positions within SPE and affiliate divisions
• Maintain a clear understanding of each client's business-unit and the role they play within the corporate structure
Furniture Support/Contract Furniture
• Respond to furniture and workstation work order requests received through Archibus and coordinate with the internal Relocations group for deployment of inventory furniture to fulfill requests as necessary
• Coordinate all furniture order placement with Facilities Administration and manage receipts in Ariba purchasing system
• Coordinate deliveries, installations, furniture punch lists, and warrantee issues
• Manage furniture inventory, furniture donations, and furniture disposal, including documentation of outgoing assets
• Manage furniture inventory with outside vendors and process associated monthly inventory fees
• Manage internet furniture orders, delivery and installations
Interior Design and Project Support
• Take lead on small projects ranging in complexity from simply laying out furniture in a single office and replacement of furniture, to a small complete TI build-out
• Assist design team with internal project programming, space planning and fit studies for medium projects (categorized as 3,000-10,000 s.f.) and large projects (categorized as 10,000 s.f. and above)
• Assist more senior level designers with architectural and furniture materials and finish selections
• Coordinate sample request
• Internal project field verifications
• Existing furniture verifications/ inventory for project reuse were necessary
• Assist with presentation drawing and materials
• Produce quick turn-a-round pricing and construction drawings in AutoCAD
CAD Administration
• Maintain CAD drawing repository. The SPE CAD drawing repository currently includes over 250 different floor plans covering over 120 properties in Culver City, New York and various other domestic and worldwide office locations. As drawings are updated a final plan needs to be ''released'' in the repository for space management use. This process is to be coordinated with the Sr. Facilities Systems Manager
• Coordinate with IT regarding program issues, and licenses
• Maintain drawing standards library
• Issue appropriate CAD backgrounds to outside vendors and architectural partners
Facilities Administration
• Support Sr. Facilities Systems Manager with various tasks related to the maintenance of work space data within the Sony portfolio including but not limited to room numbering updates, poly-lining updated layouts in AutoCAD, assist in verifying employee location data, etc.
Other Duties
• Upkeep and management of design library
• Coordinate with reprographics vendor for department plotter service and supplies
Education
, Years of Experience, Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required:
• A minimum of Associates of Arts degree in interior design, interior architecture or architecture program with a minimum 2 years of experience in interior design.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Critical thinking ability necessary
• Quick learner
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Adobe Creative Suite skills required
• Excellent AutoCAD knowledge base and skills required
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word
