Finance Manager, International Theatrical
The International Theatrical Finance team manages all financial planning, analysis, and accounting for the international territories. The Manager of International Theatrical Finance will be involved in the annual MRP, Division Budget, quarterly forecasts and other financial reporting cycles. The position will work closely with the different SPRI groups by being part of a group that will deliver a high performing and agile FP&A function. The Manager will also collaborate with Corporate and other SPE Lines of Business. The Manager will report to the SPRI Vice President, Accounting and Finance.
Responsibilities:
Budgeting/Forecasting & Accounting Support:
• Assists with the budgeting and forecasting of International Theatrical Mid-Range Plan (MRP), division budget and quarterly forecasts.
• Create/enhance financial models to support By-title and overhead budgeting and forecasting.
• Works with the Accounting team to monitor actuals and variances against budget/forecast.
• Acts as a business partner for the different groups to provide various financial analysis and insights to support decision making.
• Prepares title and overhead accrual details.
• Assists in the tracking of by-title Ultimates and related management reporting.
• Works with territories and MPG to ensure items are recorded correctly.
Global Overhead budget and forecasting:
• Includes quarterly Domestic and International budget, forecast and ad-hoc requests.
• Includes annual MPG executive project creation, analytics, and frequent reconciliations.
Operational and other support
• Special requests regarding territory performance.
• Scenario planning for distribution deals with branches and sub-distributors.
• Develop and monitor performance KPIs and management dashboards to support business decision making.
• Includes working with the SAP teams to understand the new system enhancements and how they impact the FP&A function.
• Other ad-hoc requests.
Requirements:
• 5 years of related experience (film financials and operations.)
• BA/BS degree in related field.
• Entertainment Industry experience highly preferred.
• MBA / CPA preferred.
Knowledge of:
• Strong knowledge of motion picture marketing and budgets.
• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles forecasting models.
• Strong technical spreadsheet applications experience, primarily Excel, required.
• Strong knowledge of other Microsoft Office tools.
Skill In:
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills required.
• Excellent attention to detail required.
• Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills.
Ability To:
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet challenging deadlines
• Proven ability to perform well, both independently and as a team
• Ability to build strong professional relationships, particularly with senior management both in Operations and Finance.
