Finance Manager, International Theatrical
Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI) is responsible for the distribution and marketing of Sony movies throughout the world. This position exists to support the international territory finance and accounting functions within SPRI. The Manager position, which reports to the Director of Territory Accounting, will be responsible for various territories covering all regions (Europe, Asia/Pacific Rim, Latin America) and working directly with the local Finance teams regarding all financial and accounting requirements including monthly reporting, budgeting/forecasting, and special projects.
Responsibilities
• Act as the main point of contact for Territory Finance teams for areas regarding financial reporting, budget/forecast process, special projects, territory issues, and Home Office requests
• Perform budget and forecast analysis of the international titles including revenues, marketing expenses, prints, and other releasing costs.
• Perform and/or support budget and forecasting procedures around overhead, headcount, balance sheet, withholding/income taxes, summary of operations, and capital expenditures as well as detail review of territory overhead budget and forecast submissions
• Perform monthly accruals for title revenues and marketing, print, and other expenses
• Review of monthly territory financial packages, including title information and overhead results against budget
• Utilize Excel modeling skills to update various forecasting models
• Review monthly title and cash information posted by the Shared Service team
• Run queries and prepare SAP and excel reports for ad hoc requests from Operations, Corporate, and other lines of business
• Coordinate and review territory submissions for Tax, audit, and Corporate requests and monthly/quarterly reporting
• Other special projects for the division and Corporate
Requirements
• 3-5 of years similar finance experience; entertainment industry preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel (including look-ups, pivot tables, and macros)
• Strong knowledge of budgeting and forecasting models
• Knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, foreign exchange, and financial closing
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet challenging deadlines
• Proven ability to perform well in both a team atmosphere and independently
• Ability and confidence to interact with high level executives
• Ability to build strong professional relationships
• Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving and organizational skills required
• Knowledge of SAP is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of foreign languages is a plus
