International Distribution Strategy MBA Intern, Sony Pictures Television – Fall 2018
Sony Pictures Television Distribution licenses Sony's vast catalog of movies and TV series to television networks and video on demand platforms in more than 200 territories. The International Distribution Strategy group is an integral part of the sales organization, aimed at maximizing revenue across free television, basic cable, subscription pay television and new media platforms.
The department is seeking a qualified and driven Intern to support the International Distribution Strategy group efforts, including analysis of sales activity across content, territories and clients to provide insights and bench-marking for content valuation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will work closely with the Director and other team members to develop methods and models to help our business make smarter and more informed decisions.
• Extract and analyze information from relevant sales systems and compile reports to support TV and film product information and decision-making needs
• Help to develop enhanced comp models leveraging historical sales activity across multiple content genres and market research to predict future sales values
• Conduct exploratory market research and analysis to identify content trends and opportunities
• Help to research and summarize show performance
• The position will provide opportunities to network, receive mentorship, and gain exposure to the distribution business
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university for the duration of the internship and able to work part time, pursuing an MBA
• Excellent and detail-oriented qualitative and quantitative research skills that provide business insight and support decision-making processes
• Advanced Excel skills, specifically ability to manipulate multiple workbooks, Vlookups, Pivot tables, and Macros
• Strong analytical aptitude, intellectual curiosity, and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to solve problems
• Familiarity and passion for TV and film content
• Strong sense of ownership and urgency
• Flexibility, ability to work under tight timelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This Fall internship is from Tuesday, September 11th through December 14th but is flexible with start date based on school schedule. All candidates must be able to work between 10-29 hours and be currently enrolled in a college or university.
