D&I Creative Programming Trainee, People & Organization – Fall 2022
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Professional Trainee program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. This Fall Professional Trainee position is from September through December 16th and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week.
The Diversity & Inclusion team is searching for a Creative Programming Trainee. The Trainee will work directly with the VP of Creative to help identify opportunities for diversity and inclusion throughout the Motion Picture Group and Sony Pictures Television including marketing, promotion, episodic assignments, and ongoing programs. The Trainee will develop a foundation of knowledge about writers, directors, and other creative talents (both emerging and established) and gain exposure to the creative process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain and update files on writers, directors, and content creators and help identify opportunities to leverage talent for current programming
• Provide support for SPT Diverse Directors Program, Diverse Writers Program, and other initiatives, including (as needed) application review, coordinating shadowing assignments, organizing events
• Assist VP of Creating Programming with drafting internal/external communications, and scheduling
• Support the creation of decks, presentations, and other materials
• Assist in occasional event planning and execution, which may be outside of typical 9-6 work hours
• Support team with ad-hoc administrative duties
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Interest in and knowledge of television and film
• Relevant experience in the creative process within television and film and/or education
• Strong research and written communication skills
• Highly organized, resourceful, and dependable
• Passion for fresh, underrepresented voices and stories
• Eagerness to read and watch emerging content
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
