Executive Director, TV Distribution Lawyer
- Overview:
Sony Pictures Entertainment is looking to hire a talented, enthusiastic, motivated and thoughtful lawyers on a fixed term contract basis. You will be joining a strong and well established legal team that keeps high standards and encourages innovation.
This role is an Executive Director level, Home Entertainment focused position.
As an integral part of Sony Pictures' EMEA business, this is an exciting opportunity to work with clients across the EMEA region, and would suit applicants with an international outlook, who have either relevant in-house experience, or are looking to make the first move from private practice.
For the Television Distribution roles you will have experience in:
• An ability to draft and negotiate a variety of agreements across the home entertainment business, including for physical distribution, IT and logistics supply services; physical retailer terms; marketing agencies, content acquisition and licensing arrangements;
• A strong commercial lawyer with a solid understanding of contract law, competition law and intellectual property law;
• An understanding of the physical supply chain and retail business and/or the content licensing business and its legal issues;
• Ability to manage disputes and outside counsel.
Who we're looking for:
• Preferably experience or exposure within the physical retail business and/or entertainment/media industry
• Excellent legal analysis, drafting, negotiation and organizational skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to win the confidence of clients and management, and the flexibility to respond appropriately to a wide variety of clients in a fast-paced international business;
• Ability to work calmly and thoughtfully under pressure;
• Ability to work independently, as well as a collaborative team player.
