Director, People & Organization Strategy
The Director, People Strategy will provide support to the Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) in driving the vision and strategy for the ''People & Organization (P&O)'' division. The P&O division encompasses all HR related functions, including the HR Business Partner function, Diversity & Inclusion, Total Rewards, Global Talent Acquisition and Global Learning and Development.
Reporting to the EVP, Chief People Officer, and acting as a key thought partner to the entire senior P&O leadership team, this ''chief-of-staff'' type role will be responsible for developing strategy, drafting communication materials and decks, driving project timelines and fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment in P&O. This individual should have business acumen, intense curiosity, high emotional intelligence, flawless credibility and practiced discretion. This role will be focused on balancing high-level long-term vision with day to day short-term execution and program development. Additional skills include building trusting relationships, global stakeholder management, organization and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the Chief People Officer and senior P&O leadership team by ensuring that the division is focused on a defined long-term vision and executing against specific strategies. This includes connecting, communicating and staying in-tune with P&O leadership, their teams, and establishing a knowledge base of information and sharing with the broader P&O organization when appropriate.
• Manage priorities for Chief People Officer on certain matters – ensuring the right level of visibility for issues to be resolved efficiently.
• Provide support to P&O leadership by defining, mapping and documenting key programs, projects and priorities.
• Drive alignment on P&O strategy, forming a plan with clear goals and asks, executing and monitoring progress.
• Orchestrate critical meetings and discussions by collecting agenda points and synthesizing them in to action items for execution. As appropriate, take minutes of meetings to ensure completion of all agreed to actions.
• Create and implement systems and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness within P&O
REQUIREMENTS
• BA / BA required; MBA preferred
• This role requires a sincere passion for the Human Resources (HR) function, either for someone who wants to pivot their background into the HR space or continue their career in that direction.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in any combination of the HR strategy space, management consulting, operations, strategy consulting or equivalent field.
• A ''big-picture'' thinker and strategist, able to stand above the day-to-day deliverables when required and contribute meaningfully to the P&O strategy, but who is also attuned to the details required for successful execution.
• Exceptional project management skills; experience partnering with global teams and driving the team to timely results.
• Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple concurrent projects to success.
• Excellent relationship manager – able to work seamlessly with all levels of employees in a variety of P&O scenarios.
• Solid communicator in written and verbal form; ability work well with executives.
• The highest level of influencing, diplomacy and discretion, in order to build and develop strong partnerships.
• Highest level of integrity and management of confidential / sensitive information.
• A high tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to navigate complexity.
