Overview
The Digital Marketing Manager acts as the ultimate stakeholder partner, successfully planning and delivering innovative retail and customer marketing campaigns whilst simultaneously aligning the consumer focus and commercial goals of SPE with the business objectives of our digital retail and broadcast partners.
Reporting into the Head of Feature Film Marketing the role owns all customer marketing activities related to digital partners, with the key account being Amazon (transactional business, physical and Prime Video). This is across new release, catalogue and distribution windows and is expected to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external commercial stakeholders to best maximise SPEs exposure, impact, share of voice and GP
Key Responsibilities:
45% - CUSTOMER MARKETING STRATEGY AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
• Responsibility for Customer and Retail Marketing strategy and implementation across SPEs new release and back catalogue product on digital retailers & SVOD services. Collaborate closely with both internal and external key stakeholders to deliver impactful, creative and commercial marketing plans
• Develop new ways of working, strategies and systems to better align with the changing dynamic of SPEs business and client base, ensure we are looking holistically at EST, VOD and SVOD windows as well as delivering on innovative activity with Amazon Prime Video.
• Working with the Film Marketing Managers, develop customer marketing concepts and creative direction for new release titles to be used across digital retail and broadcast ensuring a cohesive overall campaign synced up with the publicity, promotions and media campaigns and taking learnings from one window to the next
• Keen focus on establishing SPE as the go to business, promotional and marketing partner for key client Amazon, ensuring we are aligned with their business objectives and KPIs across all windows (Theatrical launch promotion, pre order, EST Launch, VOD and APV subscription)
• Ensure we are best maximizing our use of agency resources to streamline with SPEs business & delivery goals with a specific focus on asset delivery and merchandising
• Negotiate rates and manage relationships and performance reviews with creative and delivery agencies to ensure we are generating ROI for the business
• Become the go to point of contact and relationship holder for all digital retailers for SPHE marketing with an expectation of presence in quarterly product presentations, JBP presentations, client entertainment events and ad hoc meetings
• Work with insights to stay on top of current market trends and behaviors of the category shopper. Understand the key accounts that can drive growth opportunity for the business and partner strategically
• Develop quarterly presentations with Product Managers, specifically, slides that are needed for the retailer sell. Present internally to commercial teams and use these to help shape ongoing strategy and for JBP presentations on an annual basis
• Driving our Amazon Advertising strategy in partnership with the Film Marketing Managers across our key titles, constantly reviewing the success and building upon.
45% - ASSET AND CAMPAIGN FACILITATION
• Working in close conjunction with key internal stakeholders and external agency resource to develop a smooth streamlined process of asset delivery to enable our key accounts to launch product effectively and impactfully throughout the product lifecycle (FTO/Pre order/Release)
• Working with the Film Marketing Managers, develop creative impactful assets which are aligned with overall campaign look and feel for new release titles to be used across digital retail and broadcast
• Work with retail and broadcast partners to ensure all assets are approved and signed off in a timely manager and in line with the campaign strategy and legal requirements of SPE
• Working with the Film Marketing Managers liaise with both the UK theatrical team and home office to, in a timely fashion, secure bespoke assets, callouts, and prizes that can be used by our retail and broadcast partners to deliver a
• Communicate creative guidelines and mandatories to digital retailers and broadcasters to allow as much autonomy as possible in the creative process
• Support 1st pay customers with insights and learnings garnered from the preceding windows
• Work with Home Office & Theatrical to audit, streamline and improve our asset delivery sites and B2B systems ensuring a transparent, effective delivery system for all SPEs assets
10% - DIGITAL EDUCATION, CUSTOMER ACQUISITION & INDUSTRY ACTIVITY
• Act as the evangelist for EST and TVOD within the business constantly striving to find new ways to grow and develop the contribution of these revenue streams for the business
• Work with digital retailers on their acquisitions plans and strategies, look for ways that we can be involved and use our content and talent more effectively
• Attend industry meetings around digital education and joint acquisitions campaigns with a view to developing a more aligned, clearer proposition for the consumer
• Ensure key internal and external stakeholders are informed of any educational or promotional activations via BASE (British association of screen entertainment) and look at ways to maximise any opportunities this presents for SPE
Qualifications
and/or Experience Required
• Typically, 4-8 years of experience in a customer facing marketing position, preferably in the entertainment sector
• Strong interpersonal skills required and ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast paced, multifaceted organization
• In depth knowledge of the UK digital, SVOD and broadcast market
• Business minded, commercially focused and able to understand partners KPIs and business objectives
• Ability to influence, negotiate and persuade others
• Self-motivated team player and facilitator
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects in a dynamic/changing environment and seeing those projects through to completion
• Experience of managing agencies and third parties.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
• Creative and innovative problem solver
• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent experience required
