Associate Project Manager
Associate Project Manager (APM) will report directly to the Sr. Project Manager. Under the direction of the Sr. PM the APM is expected to take on all tasks to learn all areas of Facilities project management. Independently manage smaller scale capital construction projects including (but not limited to) interior and exterior construction, tenant improvements, renovations, upgrade and modernization throughout the Studio and leased property throughout Culver City. (value range of projects $1,000-$500,000). In this role, the APM will be responsible in coordinating the activities of a project to ensure budget, schedule and team coordination are aligned for a seamless transition through all phases of the project. This position will also be required to support the Sr. Project Manager and Vice President of Project Management as required on administrative and special projects.
Responsibility:
1. Project Management: Coordinate and manage project from inception to completion. Manage multiple project players including (but not limited to) architects, engineers, general contractors, SPE internal trades and SPE business units. Conduct weekly meetings, generate meeting minutes. Conduct field walks, punch walks and be responsible for project close out.
2. Project Schedules: Will create detailed project schedules via MS Project. Will be responsible to track schedules to ensure project/team is on schedule.
3. Project Costs/Budgets: Create, track and directly report project status and costs updates to Sr. project manager on a weekly or bi-weekly basis as needed. Create and manage internal budget tracking reports.
Review and submit invoices for outside contractors/vendors in conjunction with Facilities Administrative team.
4. Administrative duties: Creating and upkeep of internal Sony document repository programs as it supports project management. Responsible for updating and managing PM process and procedure documents. Create and track internal Sony approval documents.
5. Procurement: Receive and review consultant contracts to validate scope and pricing. Work direct with SPE Procurement to generate MSA (Master Service Agreements), WA (Work Authorizations), CO (change order) as required per project. Work direct with SPE Procurement on RFP and bid process
Education
, Years of Experience, Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required:
• Previous experience in entertainment, facilities and/or construction company a plus. Knowledge and experience in facilities project management is required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment necessary.
• Excellent organization skills demonstrating proactive approach.
• Strong inter-personal skills across all levels of management and ability to get along with others while working effectively is key.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must know how to prioritize daily workflow and meet deadlines.
• Strong computer program skills with an aptitude to learn new programs required.
• Must know how to use all Microsoft Office programs, inclusive of PowerPoint – proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and presentation programs.
• Must be flexible and willing to work overtime when required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow directions without concern.
