Analyst, Deal Tracker
The Analyst, DealTracker role is integral to the Business Affairs team at Sony Pictures Television (SPT). Primary responsibilities are overseeing and maintaining Sony's DealTracker contract management database, extracting and entering above-the-line contract data for SPT, working with the EVP of Business Affairs to attach BA executives to all new projects, and additional tasks as necessary.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and maintain DealTracker contract management database
• Extract data from circulated above-the-line agreements, term deals, and amendments
• Populate DNRs (Deal Negotiation Requests) in the DealTracker system with all relevant contract data
• Request missing DNRs from the relevant assistant(s)
• Backstop document upload process
• Identify glitches, inefficiencies, and ways to improve the DealTracker system
• Work closely with Sony's internal IT rep to address the above
• Attach BA executives (in conjunction with the EVP) to new projects and term deals, and reassign existing ones as requested, via DealTracker
• Advise Development and Creative executive assistants on best practices for using DealTracker
• Provide ad hoc DealTracker troubleshooting and guidance for all television team members
• Ensure executives and other stakeholders approve deals within the system in a timely manner
• In conjunction with the IT rep, conduct group and individual training for new DealTracker users
• Run the Deal Status report using DealTracker prior to the weekly Business Affairs Meeting
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree
• Legal education and/or minimum 3 years work experience in a Legal/Business Affairs setting
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program strongly preferred
• Substantive experience operating a contract management database, preferably cloud-based
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat, and strong overall computer proficiency
• Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks that all have some degree of time sensitivity
• Ability to process a high volume of documents
• Able to work independently with minimal guidance or supervision
• Can interpret complex contractual language and distill into specific data points
• Can work cross-functionally with multiple teams within a large division
• Comfortable demonstrating use of a cloud-based contract management system to all levels of computer proficiency
• Must be able to operate with the utmost attention to detail
• Must be able to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion
