Staff Accountant (Studio Finance) (205655-033)
The Staff Accountant will provide financial reporting, accounting and budgeting support for various operating departments within the following major operating groups- SPTech, Studio Services and Worldwide Facilities. This position will be hands-on in executing day-to-day accounting transactions in compliance with the company policies and procedures. It will also provide analytical support to Studio finances Business Support teams on special projects.
Prepare journal entries and analyze general ledger for various departments. Manage suspense and billover systems, credit card reconciliations, bank recs and petty cash audits etc.
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual close packages, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow schedules and related variance analysis / explanations against budget and forecast.
Communicate and interact regularly with operating management and personnel; handle questions, as well as research and perform additional analysis as needed to support business needs
Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to Corporate Finance, including P&L, cash flow, flash and actual-to-budget variance reconciliation’s and submissions. This also includes various tax, census and audit schedules and submissions etc.
Assist the Studio Finance Business Support teams in the preparation, consolidation and analysis of annual budget, multi-year business plan and various financial analyses for lines of businesses.
Enhance financial reporting and streamline, refine and improve the consolidation process to assist management and improve departmental workflow.
Required Skills:
Hands-on general accounting and financial reporting experience (including general ledger and systems knowledge)
Hands-on budgeting and forecasting experience
Good initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
Good follow-through on all projects; ability to bring projects to timely completion
Detailed oriented
Good organization and analytical skills
Good written and oral communication
Strong Excel and Windows skills
Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years of practical working experience in Accounting and/or Finance, entertainment industry preferred
B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus
